I've always wanted to attend but I am afraid to because I don't know what to expect. Can anyone clue me in? Thanks!

We have to bring a white elephant gift to my company party this Friday. I think it would be funny to give away my wife's aunt's ashes because we don't really want them. My wife says it's kind of weird, but I think it's a great idea. My wife thinks we should give them to her brother for Christmas instead, but that would probably just start a big fight because no one else in the family knows we have them (don't ask).

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Ladies I'm pretty sure we've all been exposed this time of year to our friend "Mistletoe", whether being cornered at work, or at a relatives house or at the infamous office party, what are the rules? How does one KISS, is it just a peck on the cheek, a peck on the lips, or my favorite the "tongue salsa", etc.. Please share your ideas and thoughts. Happy Holidays!

We are and UPS has come to our house like every day last week and came yesterday. I'm sure there is more to come.

Let's face it....gift giving can get out of hand during this time of the year. So, majority of the population charge their impressive gifts last year. Have you paid off that debt yet so you can spend it again this year?

A company called Sweco estimated that Santa would only have 34 microseconds per stop if he was going to deliver presents to all the children in the world OF ALL FAITHS.

HELLO? Do we now have to submit even our myths and legends to the ridiculous buzzsaw of political correctness? If you're going to assume that Santa is real and that he delivers presents on Christmas Eve, then you have to assume that he's delivering to CHRISTIAN children, as this is a Christian holiday. When will the madness end?

The old saying is "Tis the season" yet several people seem to be more worried about the word "Christ"mas than spreading jolliness. So my question is do you consider it an insult when someone says Merry Christmas, or are we just hearing about a small majority in the world. This would be a great question for Christmas, Hannukkah and Kwanza celebrators alike.

So what, in your opinion, is that magical, wonderful gift that keeps on giving?

It can be real, some made-up gadget, an idea or concept, whatever.

He said no presents - should I decline to accept the gift? I am afraid he was too extravagant. Or if I don't decline the gift then I want to get him something nice but I don't know him very well. He has a huge HO train set up in his basesment. Takes up a whole 8x10 room. He has a really nice telescope. He races RC boats. He has about 1,000 DVDs. I don't mind spending the money (up to $100.00) but I have no idea what to get him. I don't want to go overboard but I don't want to buy him some cheap trinket either. He doesn't wear watches or jewelry. Already said "Don't get me any clothes". HELP! Any suggestions on what I should get this really wonderful guy for Christmas?

She does the same thing to my SIL. The only gifts she ever really likes come from her daughters. Even when my husband suggests a gift she is polite but after we leave makes snotty comments. Since money is very tight this year, I have opted for making handmade crocheted rugs (known as rag rugs). They are beautiful & very heavy plus after making a couple of them for less than $5 my neighbor wanted to buy them & offered me $45 a piece for them. I said sure & sold them. While I could use that money to buy her a nice gift, I figure that it will still be laughed at - even though she is not weathly she does not have extra bills to pay so she is somewhere in the middle for people her age. Therefore, would a handmade rug (made to match her home) be okay? She does live in the country & her entire home is done in a country theme. I'm just tired of spending money on gifts for her. Like I said, the only gifts that are not made fun of would be the ones from her daughters. Any suggestions?

Every year we try to be different from the years before. From different color of bows, bulbs and lights on the tree to the Christmas lights outside on the house and property.

Happy Holidays to each other now? The people who aren't christian aren't celebrating the Birth of Christ anway...like the jewish folks..so why do businesses and people now say happy holidays?
It really pisses me off..IT'S Merry Christmas!! If you live In America.
We were founbed on God-and Christ...it's in our courthouses...legislature bldgs..on our MONEY!!
If you don't believe in Christmas or aren't christian why do you care one way or the other.
And please don't tell me it's because we don't want to offend non-christians! Non-christians don't CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS!!
Stop saying happy holidays...it's sounds so stupid!
When someone wishes me a happy holiday.I Say: Merry Christmas to you too!lol.

Years ago in a newspaper I followed instructions for wrapping a gift for christmas. They had a few ideas but the one I chose was one that you folded the paper to look like a suit and jacket. Does anyone know of a site or have instructions on how to wrap gifts in unique ways such as this?

I am a member of a Christian homeschool group and have asked for their help in obtaining used items to help this single mother of 6 have a Christmas for her family. I have purchased items and have received quite a few gifts (used) from them and now I feel that I am being scrutinized for helping this family all because I was sent a message from another member in regards to where she could drop items off. I am not asking for others to help in wrapping these gifts or anything. So why is it that I am feeling this way? I am just trying to help this family out and not taking for myself. This family is in legitimate need. So why is it when someone tries to help another individual they are scrutinized for the act of kindness that another wants to do. What would you do in this situation?

I am at a loss as to how to react to this and why I am feeling this way. I don't understand all of this because as a Christian you are a giving soul and should have a heart to want better for others.

The show I am looking for aired in 1980 or 1981. My girls loved it -- I don't remember the band. Just that Christmas branch. I was sick and my girls got us a Christmas branch and decorated it themselves. I'd like to get it for their children. Thanks
