I bought my girlfriend a really nice necklace. 3 carot diamond necklace which set me back a good amount. When I gave it to her she smiled and said "its so nice!". didnt say thank you or even give me a kiss. About 5 minutes later she goes "Hey did you save your receipts?" I asked her why and she says,"Oh I just wanted them,just for my records,like if I need to exchange anything."

BTW her big "gift" to me was this pullover coat.

What were these things? How much were they? Who did you give them to?

The most expensive was a $20 monitor stand for my fiance's computer. The least expensive was an irredescent glass sanddollar I bought for my mom - It was $1.08 after tax, and she yelled at me because she thought I spent like 30 bucks on it, plus it looks like the most expensive gift I bought...

Anyways, I am 25, she's about 50 something. I had bought my first car in April...a G35 coupe, and I bought a cross to put in my car (she works at People's The Diamond Store). She told me to come by the next day and she'll give me a vail of holy water as well to sprinkle on my car.

In September, a driver did a hit and run. My car was entirely destroyed....I collided with a semi truck. The police can't catch them...though they've tried. My roof was mostly sliced off, the passenger side was crushed, so was the back. Where I was sitting though....I didn't even have a scratch....I just opened my car door and walked out. The police, ambulance all said I should've been decapitated. Only 6 inches of the roof was intact...where I was sitting. I've already thanked her, but maybe I should get a belated Xmas present?

Anyways...I don't even know her name....but I feel I should get her something....but what? What do you suggest?

everybody something and i did not even get a marry christmas a call to tell me thank you or nothing. He asked me today if i wanted him to get me something for christmas and i said if he wanted to. I should not have to tell him to go get me something. Why should i? He did not have to tell me to get him something i just feel real sad and depressed because i do alot around here and that just let me know that he dont give a ****. How do he eat? I cook. How do he get clean clothes? I wash. My kids made me a christmas card that was the best thing that i got. Please let me know should i be upset. I have four boys and one of my son's if forever ungrateful; two years in a row, when grandma asked him what he had received he said that he didn't get anything, which I got him toys. So this year I got him the 3-4 small gifts on his list, he was fine, excited to tell everyone (grandma and uncle about it) But when she gave him 2 gifts he said, ok is this is, is there any more in a very ungrateful way. This question is only for parents and Grandparents, This particular child of mine is almost 7 and is my only child like this, he has older brothers and younger brothers, what is your advice, do I cut out christmas ( don't want to do away totally as the other kids should not be punished, but I want the true meaning of christmas to be understood) I want to instill in my child gratitude, any help?

my parents always held back a present from christmas for new years day , after all the excitement of christmas and getting so much as we did , we were always given a present after new years day dinner , i had forgotton about the tradition up until last year when my parents were staying with me , and after our dinner they presented the children and i a gift , we all had a book mine was a film book a passion of mine anyway , i will carry on this tradition this year does anyone else do the same , ?

I didnt go to my Xmas party at work because I told my manager I am going to San Diego for two days. I went back to work for my schedule my manager gave me a card from my boss and his wife with a 40 dollar check. I was pretty surprised since I know they dont celebrate Xmas because I asked before and I didnt get them anything and I am not sure if she personally handed them out since I wasnt there for the party. How can I give my thanks after Xmas should I write a card for New Year or thank my boss in person? Is it okay if I cash it out now and give my thanks later since I need to go to the bank right now lol. Btw I work at Subway.

To Native American Indians, like Navajos, Hopis' etc christmas has very little meaning as to westerns. Native Indains believe christmas is just another one of the events that is forced upon, and its just a way to get them rich. but for a lot of indians they go along or do it for thier children. they don't want to hurt or disappoint them. what do you think about this subject?
