because...the Christmas trees are evergreens and um...Santa wears red?
i'm guessing -.-
but more symbolically, green is the color associated with youth and everlasting and all that stuff. so there's some connection with life and rebirth or something there.
red i think represents the blood of Jesus 'cause, well, he gave his life to help the people and Christmas is his birthday.

I believe that derives from the early practices of bringing into households the plants that were evergreen ( symbolizing eternal life) which were pines, yews, holly. Yews and holly have red berries.

nicely I consistently think of pink and eco-friendly yet pink and white are christmas colorings too because of the fact seem at santa's outfit there is not any eco-friendly in it so i do no longer think of the two considered one of you is erroneous your the two suitable!!! :D
