My niece is 18, my nephew is 15.
What would be the best gifts for teenagers. I know Jake (nephew) is into skateboarding. Jess (niece) shopping and the like.
I don't want to resort to just gift cards or money.

List 'em baby!

As for me, I already bought a nice throw blanket for my mom and another one for my dad. I'm gonna buy some cute pajamas for my sister, and some kitchen stuff for my brother. I'm making cookies, brownies and cupcakes for my co-workers, which I will be wrapping up very nicely...plus, they get a nice mug! And my boss gets a $20 Nordstrom giftcard from me, also!!!

Happy Holidays!

This is for my husband. I'd rather not do a sex coupon book. That seems lame.

List 'em baby!

As for me, I want some Lancome moisterizer, a nice black jacket that I can wear with jeans, which would still be a bit dressy, "The Little Mermaid", "Over the Hedge", some Puma or Nike athletic shoes, and some clothes in general, for work!

But don't think I'm all about the "receiving" for the holidays! Go to my profile, click questions, and check out my other question..."What ru giving?"

Happy Holidays!!!

As an atheist, I enjoy the Christmas season as a time of showing appreciation for friends and family. Believe it or not, I also enjoy most of the seasonal decorations and holiday cheer, although I weary of the Fox News "War on Christmas" mentality. The excessive materialism is a bit of a killjoy for me, too. But on the whole, I appreciate the good intentions of celebrants, whether Christian or not, and I enjoy the opportunities to connect with others that Christmas affords.

Therefore I ask you to share a Christmas experience that brought you closer to a stranger or acquaintance, even if for just a short time.

My experience took place at my daughter's piano recital. It started with children playing as the audience listened. As things loosened up, others jumped in to play a Christmas carol or two, however imperfectly. Before long, we were encouraging one another to play what one could while children and adults sang along. It was a lovely experience that didn't cost a penny.

Now you!

We had our office Christmas party on Friday, December 1st. My boss gave me a beautiful floor plant in a large ceramic pot. The plant is as tall as I am and probably weights 75 lbs. or more. I commute to/from work via bus and train. My round trip travel time per day is about 4 hours. I moved the plant in back of my desk and love looking at it every day when I'm at work. Finally the other day, my boss took me aside and asked me if I liked the plant. I told him I loved it. Then he asked if I loved it so much, why hadn't I brought it home. Hello? How am I supposed to carry something this big and heavy on public transportation? My boss knows how I commute into work. I don't drive so bringing my car into work one day to get the plant is not an option. Has anyone else out there experienced anything like this?

I've got a friend who will not spend Christmas with her family. I'd invite her over to my home but my family and I will be out of that state. She's not religious so I can't suggest she go to church or anywhere like that. Where can she go to pass the time on Christmas day? Is anything open? Looking for anything in Vermont or New Hampshire.

My boyfriend of 3 years already has everything he wants, so I'm thinking of sending him to a spa as his Xmas gift. Should I send him alone? Or should we go together? I'm afraid it won't seem like a "gift" if I'm getting a massage right there with him... I don't want it to seem like it's really for me.

Should I go and have a massage with him, or send him alone?

Usually we go for the easier, and less attention-needing fake Christmas tree, however this year we tried to go o’ natural and now I am beginning to remember why. Is there anything I can do to spare myself from having to vacuum up those annoying little piney things almost everyday?

I feel like a jerk for not wanting to spend my entire Christmas with my in-laws. Here's the situation. My Mom, who I loved more than anything, passed away in Jan. 2000 at age 52. Ever since then the Holidays and Birthdays just aren't the same. I'm sure feeling this way is normal. It's not that I don't enjoy them anymore, but they are just 'different' now. Now that I'm married, I'm excited to start building some new Christmas memories and traditions of my own. I would like my wife and I to spend the Holidays together and decorate and do our own thing. But every year we go spend 3 nights with her parents and family for Christmas. Her family is great but I would like us to do our own thing too. My wife is so excited about us going to stay with them, it's almost like she's a kid again to hear her talk about it. Where as I am kind of dreading it. Do you think that I'm a jerk for feeling this way about the situation?

As everyone knows its really not long until christmas. i am organised so thats not a problem.

My problem is my friend and what to get her- she is 38 has just had her birthday last week. i managed to sort that out just. i dont have alot of time left due to working etc. so anyone got any ideas please?
She wont say what she wants as she hates people buying things for her, she does have a family. And is one of these people that buy whatever she needs.

Any honest ideas welcome.
and where i can purchase it
I will spend bout £50.

Thanks
Giraffe
