Hi! I am an athiest but my husband's family, as well as mine, are christian. We like to celebrated christmas so that we can have that family enteraction time. However, Dec. 26th, 2005 we had a baby girl. Now we don't want to celebrate christmas so that we don't ruin her birthday. Our problem is that everyone is upset with us for "not wanting to spend time with the family" by not celebrating chrismas and we don't want to screw our kid out of a fun holiday just because we're athiest. What do other Athiest families do? Even through I was christian as a kid christmas was never about christ, it was always about the presents. I want my daughter to have a day like that.

What sounds like a good and fair idea?

I'm looking for something that a 20 year old guy would like. He's into snowboarding and dirt bikes. I want to get him something that he'll really like and use.

The reason I'm asking is because I think that sometimes strangers can have the best ideas, since I know my brother I tend to over think it.

What colours / themes do you use on your tree and around your house?

I stick to red / burgundy / gold ornaments with clear lights on the tree and around the house (a more traditional style).

our limit is $100. He won't really tell me anything that he wants...I know a bunch of little things I could get him ( like dvds, books, cologne etc.) But I want to get him somthing nicer that he would love. He's very much hard to give gifts to (he's the kind of guy who is pretty much satisfied with what he has, doesn't really like to shop or buy things for himself. And even when I get him somthing cool he's less than thrilled. I mean he appreciates it and everything but he's just happy without "things" which is a great quality but makes it hard to shop for him) Any gift ideas?

he likes running, reading, he's a youth pastor, likes to watch and play basketball, he's HILARIIOUS very funny guy, about to graduate from college, could always get him clothes but says he doesn't need any, likes to eat out, very laid back, easy going...

I am wondering about Walmart the day after Thanksgiving. If the store is open 24/7, can't you just be inside the store with your purchases and wait for the "doors opening time?" Do you have to wait in a line outside??

I haven't. The closest I came to a white Chirstmas was when it snowed on New Year's Eve 1979.
