If you don't care too much about being sentimental, I'd say it's always safe to go for a Best Buy giftcard or something along those lines, then he can pick out whatever he wants and you won't have to worry if he really likes it or not.

To answer your question, I would first need to know your age, and how much you are willing to spend on your Brother. My little girl is going to give my 15 year old son a gift, she is going to give him a watch that is also a radio with ear phones and a stop watch on it , along with an alarm, that clips on. She thinks it is an awesome gift. And because SHE picked it out, my son will LOVE it.

I'd give money, or maybe some new equipment for a sport he plays but cant afford, I'm 15 so I can understand if he plays lacrosse or football or something, so maybe a new shaft or nice cleats? Or the money idea is fine, I'd personally like that a lot.

A giftcard to like Walmart or his favorite place in the Mall is good! Even if its just $10 or $15. You should ask his friends. Or maybe, just maybe, even him.
