Christmas time is a warm time for me. Even though it is Winter time and snow everywhere, I feel warm and cheery all over. I see family and friends and see the special heart wrenching time of the year were gifts and good eats just light up a room! I love it, year after year after year....

Christmas is a magical time of the year when little faces light up, and beautiful carols are sung. It means that Santa Clause is coming and you had better be good. It means watching "A Wonderful Life". It brings out the good in people, it helps them remember that they are not the only ones that matter. It is the time when you read stories like "The Little Matchgirl" and cry tears of both sadness and joy. You remember those who have passed, and hope that they are having a wonderful Christmas in Heaven. It is about having the Christmas spirit. But, most of all, Christmas is about the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ.

Peace on Earth, uncommon kindness, differences put aside, faith, hope, and charity; all laced with a big dose of love. Christmas is a wonderful time that happens to include a special day to celebrate life. Time with family and friends abounds, and nostalgia and emotions run high. Special foods are brought into the house, dinner parties are held, gifts are exchanged, bejewelled trees, homes glowing with lights, generosity sweeping through; and, while smiles abound, generally have a wondeful time freezing my tookus off.

Christmas means the day Jehovah sent his only son Jesus to die for all mankind and it is also his birthday. So we get overwhelmed by his love for sinners like us and we get happy because he loves us and we need to show this same love to everybody else not just in christmas but everyday. That's when we will be termed like the FATHER, like the sons and daughters.

I'm reminded of the O.Henry story about the wife cutting her long hair (her husband'd pride and joy) to get money for a watch fob for her husband, the husband has sold his precious watch for decorative combs for his wife. Love with sacrifice.
"And here I have lamely related to you the uneventful chronicle of two foolish children in a flat who most unwisely sacrificed for each other the greatest treasures of their house. But in a last word to the wise of these days let it be said that of all who give gifts these two were the wisest. O all who give and receive gifts, such as they are wisest. Everywhere they are wisest. They are the magi."

Christmas is the amalgamation of all the good things we want for ourselves, our family and our friends. It's the kind of holiday that manges to find the good side in most people and then makes it easy to share this with others. The songs, the smells, the music, the cool air (hopefully some snow) all bring out the best in people. Since it's Christ's birthday celebration and he spoke of these very things, it seems we caught on, at least many of us.
Have a Great Christmas!

A sold-out holiday full of fake charity and false spirit. My fave is Halloween because you can be and act how you want to, not how society says you should like the other holidays. Christmas is just another day.
