I think people are so depressed and bummed out by all that has been happening in Iraq and the world situation, that many want something comforting that they are familiiar with and may offer some distraction or hope. I think it's ok.

It doesn't bother me at all. I love Christmas music and don't get tired of it.
The radio stations where I live don't start playing any Christmas music until the day after Thanksgiving, and even then it's only a handful of songs which they increase the closer it gets to Christmas. But I have been listening to an online all-Christmas music radio station out of NC for a couple weeks now.

It does not problem me in any respect. i admire Christmas music and don't lose interest of it. The radio stations the place I stay do no longer initiate taking part in any Christmas music till the day after Thanksgiving, or maybe then that's basically a handful of songs which they strengthen the closer it gets to Christmas. yet I even have been listening to an information superhighway all-Christmas music radio station out of NC for a pair weeks now.

I think it is a bit too early for that. By the time Christmas actually does come along I am so sick of Christmas music by then.
Another thing that is really annoying me is the start of Boxing Day sales. It's not even December and these commercials are running already. Give me a break. Christmas is way too commercialized noadays and I would rather do without it.
The slogan that symbolizes greediness around Christmas is the sales ads that are heard the weeks following Christmas. Does the slogan 'get what you REALLY wanted' sound familiar? Slogans like that really irritate me and I'm sure others as well.

I think you're lucky it's only been a week, ours has been playing 24 hour Christmas music since the day after Halloween!!!
Don't get me wrong, i'm no scrooge but i can only hear "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas" and "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" so many times before i scream.
I do enjoy it but not in overkill. I think that a week before Thanksgiving is sufficient.
Happy Holidays to you and your family

My EZ listening station started that the day after Halloween. Now I have to listen to the same 20 Christmas songs over and over for two months.
Really, now. C'mon.
I got out my CD collection. I am NOT listening to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving.

I think its awful! I saw a Christmas tree farm the other day and almost had a heart attack. Lets get through Thanksgiving before you start stuffing Christmas down our throats! Its only four more days...geez!

I hate it! Actually I don't like Christmas music AT ALL. Can't stand it, even after Thanksgiving.

I think it's quite sad, really.
We blow past being thankful and straight into the greed of what Christmas isn't.
I find it disheartening because it has become all about the money and sales. When this is the time to be grateful for making it this far and for our daily blessings.
December was designated for the big holidays of all American faiths - I wish it would go back there.
