Holidays - October 2007

I have an alarm next to my bed which wakes me up for fajr prayer every morning. This Thursday, I woke up for the prayer and changed the alarm to wake me up at 8:00 am so i can study, after i finished my prayer.
The next day, I forgot to reset my alarm to prayer time, and just turned it on (forgetting it was set to 8:00). While i was sleeping i saw i dream... The power went out and my clock stopped working. And in my dream i told myself "I better set the alarm to wake me up for prayer so that i dont forget to later on." I woke up from the dream. I looked at the clock. It was time for fajr prayer. :)

Why is it that for 364 days of the year children are told not to talk to strangers or accept lollies/gifts from them and yet on 31/10 they are encouraged to do so? Don't parents think about the nutters out there who could well be sizing ther children up for illegal activity?

No wonder kids are confused these days.

With all the problems going on in the last two decades, wehn taking or letting your kids out for Halloween, do you let them eat the candy? Do you check it out and throw away the questionable items? Do you take it to a hospital to be x-rayed (I know some hospitals have done this in the past). How careful do you check these "treats" out?

Do you really think that Jesus Christ would have dressed up as something he was not and gone out and recieved candy or goods from others?? Are we not supposed to follow in what Christ did? I hope that our children will ask each day --how or what would Christ do? I am not saying that children or adults can't have fun !!! Have a fall gatheing with bags full of treats for the kids. Dead souls/ghosts no thank you .

I would like some homemade or just some regular ideas for a halloween costume. i want an unusual idea because at school we are going to have a contest, last year my friend was the movie theater floor with popcorn, soda, etc! Okay I am going trick or treating with my bff! However my extremlely flat chest and lack of height is going to hurt since we are looking for closely related costumes! I plan to be Dorothy and She plans to be Little Red Riding Hood. Except I don't think I'll fit into the teen costumes and she definitly won't fit into size 12/14! How can we get cute...short...and hot costumes when I am still considered a kid when shopping for a halloween costume???????????

The costume has to be for a guy, and its for a school contest so it needs to be clean. Im thinking about something like gum under a shoe or a deviled egg. So something along those lines. Thanks in advance for the help.
