Emotional intimacy is the one thing that a person cannot live happily without. The happiest people are those who have people they can share their lives with. They have a genuine interst in the people around them. Intimacy is one of our legitimate needs and a prerequisite for happiness. Yu can survive without intimacy, but you cannot thrive without it. Human beings yearn above all else for emotional intimacy. If we have emotional intimacy we can go without an awfrul lot and still be happy. Without it, all the riches of the world cannot satisfy our hungry hearts, which remain restless, irritable, and discontented.
Life is about sharing oursleves with humanity at this moment in history. Relationships are a process of self-revelation. The entire human experience is a quest for harmony amid opposing forces. Many people avoid intimacy. They run from it. They are afraid to go there, they do not want to exposre their secrets. They do not want to share the secrets of their hearts, minds and souls. Itimacy requires that we allow another person to discover what moves us, inspires us, drives us, eats us. The greatest gift we can give to another human being is to take off our masks and share what is shaping us and directing our lives. Intimacy requires that we allow another person into our heart, mind, body and soul. It is a complete and unrestrained sharing of self. It is the process of mutal self-revelation that allows us to give ourselves completely to another person in the mystery we call love.
We all have a deep need to be known. There is a story inside us, waiting to be told. Intimacy means sharing our story. It helps us rememgber who we are, where we have come from, and what matters most. Sharing our story keeps us sane. Mentally ill patinets in asylms have forgotten their own story; they cannot put the yesterdays of their lives into any cohesive or structured memory. As a result they lose sight of the reference point that the past provides us in mapping our future. They lose the thread of their lives and go bad. Our story has power. Only by sharing our story with another will we wever feel uniquely known. Connecting with other people keeps us down to earth. Above all else, relationships are based on commanality of purpose.

in my opinion, love is being close to someone, never wanting to let go of that hug or kiss, looking forward to that person coming home each day, and being proud to stand beside that person no matter what happens, love shows in the eyes,
my boyfriend looks at me a certain way, and I just know.
he is one of those people who can't say it, but he shows it everyday.
love is in actions as well as words and touches. it is gradual, and sometimes sneaks up on you.
It can be easy and it can be difficult.
Its a wonderful journey

i think love is an obsessive feeling that you have towards one person ... (or 2 people feel towards each other) its hate, being sad, being happy, going through good times, going through bad times, crying, laughing, experiencing wonderful memories, and going through hard times as well...LOVE IS INTENSE!
