When I was about 25 years old I took over the holiday cooking, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas for my parents and in laws. Now my children are in their 20's and mom is still the one doing all the dinners. Do you think it would be rude of me to say "Ok kids, thats it, Easter is yours, I have done it for 27 years, I think it is about time to pass it on to the younger ones" Would it be cruel of me about 3 weeks before Easter to say, I don't know what your having for Easter because I am not doing it?

Having celebrated christmas for over 25 years, i do not understand how santa comes into the equation of christmas. OK- we have jesus's supposed birthday even though this is not reliable - cos in the 60s they celebrated xmas on 15th November. And even today people celebrate it on different dates. I believe Santa was vreated by corporations wanting to exploit the christmas spirit and they have done this well

I would just like to know why anyone who celebrates Christmas would go out to see a movie on Christmas day. I work in a theater and no I don’t get paid any extra for working on the holidays, neither does anyone else I work with. We have to work on the holidays here and we don’t get the option of taking it off. I just think it would be nice if we could close for just one day so the employees could spend some time celebrating the holiday. I figured that it would not be that busy today on Christmas but of course everyone one has to come a see a movie today so were busy and we don’t have enough staff to help everyone because its Christmas and were working with the least amount of staff possible so we get to spend at least a little time with our families, and people complain and wonder why we don’t have enough people working today. I just wanted to know why would people go to the movies if they celebrate Christmas, cant people just relax at home for one day?

Me and my family are just staying home doing nothing.
Its about dinner time, but I want to do something fun, because all we did is open presents.Doesn't really quite get me in the christmas feeling. Are there any places like those town thingys where you go to shop and do christmas-y stuff in LA?
