I'm not a muslim but I'd say that unless there were anything in the Koran that actually prohibited it as a form of idolatry then have a great time and go right ahead.
There's nothing especially 'Christian' about Christmas trees, by the way. They were a German winter tradition brought to the UK by Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's consort, and I don't think you'd find any orthodox Christian who would claim otherwise.
So - and this is a purely personal view - if I saw some local Muslims decorating trees, or going in for Morris dancing with the flowers and hats and bells and general spring-time happiness, and it obviously gave them pleasure, I'd rejoice with them.

I understand how you might be conflicted about having a Christmas tree.
I don't know if it will help you decide, but I read a newspaper article about a man in Baghdad who has sold Christmas trees there for the last 40 years. He has had many, many Muslim buyers over the years.
Now they are afraid to go to his stand to even look. They might be shot by radicals.
I would buy a tree to protest this current state of religious nightmares. The tree would symbolize the world's solidarity in a quest for peace and good will.
The evergreen tree has been a symbol of eternal faith since the dawn of man.
I hope this helps you.

The Christmas tree isn't a Christian custom. that is a custom in a large number of places interior the international and does not characterize the beginning of Christ. Many Muslims also have a good time the commercialism with kin who're Christians besides as those which at the on the spot are not non secular. Ruchjat ok: Scientist who've studied the planetary move has proved that about December twenty fifth with the help of the calendar we use as we talk is the same time the Magi stumbled on Jesus.

Yes they can and unlike what Leonardo thinks they are not intolerent (the word intolerent spells with only one L by the way). Tree is not a religious symbol. We are muslim and live in USA, we celebrate Halloween, we cook Turkey in Thanksgiving, we throw a dinner party at New year's...and we never miss wishing Merry Christmas to our Christian colleagues and neighbors, Happy Hannuka to the jewish ones.

Of course! a christmas tree is not a religious symobol, it symbolizes peace and goodwill towards man. Some people have attached religious meaning to it, but that has been very recently. If anything, the christmas tree is one symbol that can be unifying people of all beliefs, rather than seperating them. The name christmas tree is a misnomer, but popular because it is traditional at christmastime.

when you die and stand before God.. Who ever that may be.. He or she will not ask you if you put up a Christmas tree. So many other things like Easter Eggs are much more important to God.
