Good question! I'd like to ask the ACLU the same thing. (The way they talk Jesus, Moses, Mohamed, etc should be stricken from the books... I wonder what the Bible would be without the first two... and what would the Koran be without the third....)

As far as what the ACLU (American Civil Liberty's Union- those who promoted the political correctness, "don't offend anyone" propaganda) is concerned, it is and always will be Santa, Jesus is/was just too offensive.

In my personal life, Christmas centers around Jesus Christ. He will always be the "reason for the season" in my heart. To me, "Santa" is the personification of the fun and merriment of the season, but he's not the reason nor should he be, although he's become a much more secular figure than he was originally.

Edit- Afterthought... "If you're not Christian..."?? Huh? If you're not Christian, then Christmas isn't part of the deal, right? Maybe I'm confused, but I thought Christmas originally a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus..... CHRISTmas...

I think in the eyes of many who see America..Santa is the most important. He is everywhere. We arent even allowed to talk about Jesus anymore in schools..and public places, because it will offend those who do not believe. Yet Santa can be talked about like he is real..when Jesus is the real one. Jesus is the one watching us..knowing if we are bad or good..and his gift is a lot better then the ones that santa would be able to give. Jesus gives the gift of everlasting life.

For me..and my family Jesus will always be the REASON for the SEASON. Unfortunatly..santa will be the main picture of Christmas so not to offend...:(

This is an interesting questuion for the fact that Americans have become so commercialized that I think most have forgotten what Christmas is all about. I believe that Santa Claus is more for the children than Jesus. Kids can relate to Santa becuase he is the bringer of gifts. And of course, all kids love gifts. If you are Christian, of course, you should put Jesus ahead of Santa, but who can compete against Santa? So, in considering that, i think its more about Santa Claus than Jesus. But thats just my opinion. I just say, Happy Holidays, and that covers it all.

i think itz centered more around santa claus because some ppl who dont even believe in god celebrate christmas ignore the fact that christ is the first 6 letters. since we have grown up believing that santa is real we don pay attention to the true meaning of christmas which is the birth of christ

Santa Claus is only for kids, mainly focus on the birth of jesus christ. After kids get older they know that the parents get them presents and they focus more on the birth of jesus. In our family we go to mass at midnight on christmas eve.

For me and in my house my wife and kids it centers around Jesus Christ, because Jesus is the reason for the season and without him coming to earth being born of the virgin Mary, we wouldn't celebrate Christmas at all.
