Ok so I'm having a party with a pretty good sized group for New Years this year, but what am I going to do to keep them occupied? Anyone know any good New Year's activities?

All attendies are in High School.

talk to a local band, they can probably play in your garage. or backyard if its big enough.

or just have food and stuff and then watch the ball drop on tv at midnight.

Its tough when everyone who is attending is still in high school. If that weren't the case I would have said get alot of alcohol and let everyone drink, that usually breaks the ice and everyone can find a way to have a good time. At your party though try Karaoke. That is always a fun activity. Maybe watch a movie? If it snows where you are go outside and go sleding. Maybe video games, Halo is always a good thing to play with a large group.

What to do at Midnight?
Watch the countdown in Times Square on TV.
Move your party to another location (beach, field, yard, rooftop).
Watch fireworks (displays are scheduled just about everywhere).
Invite your guests to bring objects to create a time capsule.
Video tape everyone's New Year's resolutions (show it at next year's party).
Plant a tree.
Break a piñata filled with all sorts of fun gifts.
Blow bubbles.
Clank pots and pans.
New Year's Eve just wouldn't be New Year's Eve without plenty of horns, hats and confetti

Fun Games & Activities for a New Year's Eve Party include:
make resolutions
make and bury a time capsule
puzzles & board games (Life)
videos
watch midnight TV celebration
word game (most words out of letters in Happy New Year)
Creative Arts & Crafts for a New Year's Eve Party include:
make noisemakers (beans, rice, beads in plastic drink bottles)
collage of favorite things (use pictures from magazines)
make and bake cookies
make paper party hats
scratch art
shrinky dink

Nothing...just turn the music up loud and enjoy the conversation. Any preplanned activities usually turn out lame.
