What are the house rules you have for family holiday's. We have a no shoes rule at our house and wanted to know how many people out their have their family take off their shoes for thanksgiving? If so how do you get them to do it?

I'm having a Halloween party next weekend, and I'm looking for ideas for decorating the apartment. Of course I'm going to use lots of fake cobwebs, and I'm going to make some jack-o-lanterns, and have lots of candles burning.

So I'm looking for more decorating ideas. I'm concerned because the walls of my apartment are white, and there is nothing - absolutely nothing - hanging on them. I don't want to spend much (or any) money. I'm looking for DIY type stuff. Anything from table decorations to wall decorations. Something to create atmosphere and create a really creepy mood. The colors will be black and purple and a little bit of orange.

This is NOT a party for kids.

Any ideas?
