Before I was diagnosed with Crohn's and had surgery I did and it was the lowest point of my life. I am so afraid this will happen again. Any words of encouragement/advice? Thanks!

I live in Round Rock TX and am attending pain associates.I have a bullet lodged in my back and was recently told that due to my lack of participation I have no transportation and children I am being dropped. This also means I will be dropped from pain associates and will no longer recieve pain managment. Is this legal or fair? Can anyone remove this bullet? Can I be held to attending pt weekly for a permenent physical condition that pt seems to aggrivate? I was shot protecting my mother from an attempted murder but have been denied services as its not considered a domestic as I was not romantically involved with the shooter? Also I was told I am unable to obtain Pell or Stafford loan/grants prior to using all but 27.00 of my disability money which pays our bills why? I want to go to school so I can work again Does anyone know of any services for folks like me that are men but have been domestically assaulted?I am so scared about losing medical services/medications the pain never stops!

I thought Mongoloid was descendents from Mongolia or Asia. Why do people refer to people with Down Syndrome as a Mongoloid? Is it because they have Asian-looking eyes?

I had a heart murmur when I was 2, 2 strokes when I was 5, eye surgery when I was 5 (I was cross-eyed), & nose surgery twice when I was 10. I'm not suffering anything physical now, except obesity.

& I suffer a shitload of mental disabilities.

This condition wasnt diagnosed until fairly recently in Medical History so we are kind of the "guinea pigs" when it comes to diagnosis (existence of specific trigger points) management and prognosis.

Are any of you been finding that your FM becomes more debilitating as you become older?

I know we have all been told it isnt "progessive" however I wonder if the symptoms of the disorder are more debilitating due to the natural aging process? Has joint pain increased? Have you developed less endurance?

There has been some limited research on accelerated aging in people suffering from certain neurological disorders, and/or connective tissue disorders, and/or certain orthopaedic conditions.

There is also evidence that untreated depression can lead to dementia and alzheimers.

How much of a factor is reactive depression for those of you who have FM? Are you on medication for the depression and how is that working for you?

At a nearby farmer's market, a restaurant stand has a little person employed there. He is a mean spirited, evil man who fights with everyone (surprising how he keeps the job). If you call him on something, he starts yelling it's because he's a little person, that your prejudiced, etc. The last incident I had, I informed him that my problem with him was that he was an a**hole, and a**holes come in all shapes, sizes and colors, so to get over himself. Any other similar situations? What did you do?

What has helped you learn to build effective relationships with non disabled people? What tips do you have that might make it easier to make it in school , in work, in clubs, social networks? Has this changed as you got older?

Excerpt from newspaper:

There's nobody in the world like him -- and it may stay
that way for the next maybe 10, 20 years."

But the controversy over Pistorius' legs, and whether they
constitute an unfair advantage, has recently turned ugly.
Pistorius this week accused the IAAF of discriminating against handicapped people, something the organisation denies.

Moreover, he says the debate about whether his limbs are
unfair has cast a shadow over handicapped sports generally.

More.......On Friday, Pistorius finished second in a B race at the Golden Gala meet in Rome, giving the I.A.A.F. the opportunity to analyze race footage. Davies said the I.A.A.F. found that Pistorius appeared to accelerate in the second half of the race and took less time between strides than an able-bodied runner. end quote

People are claiming he should be disqualified for having a "technology enhanced advantage" over the abel bodied - (boo hoo)

Or is this just a ploy for sympathy….I feel if you want the same treatment as a non disabled person give up the handicap space and park in the back like the rest of us. Unless you have some physical deformity and are unable to make your way to the entrance…then my question becomes why are you driving?
