she could be a greeter and some place like Wal-Mart or something, she doesn't need to walk or to stand really and all she has to say is "welcome to wal-mart".

Has she been assessed by voc rehab or by the consumer director of your regional or local ms society. Is the MS the reason she has become intellectually impaired or is that the result of something else?
Voc rehab should be able to find her some kind of "work" even if it is voluntary, unless other factors from the MS come into play.
My mum had MS for 25 years, she kept house until the last four years of her life when she was bedridden. She typed papers for me and my friends while we were at university, was the secretary of the local MS chapter and did other volunteer jobs with the MS society.
You may be selling your mum short. Contact voc rehab or the MS society consumer unit and ask them to assess her skills.

Doing something repetative is what I can think of is best for her to do. Like stuffing envelopes or some kinda home based job. How 'bout volunteering at the school making packets for the teachers/students, Red Cross or anyplace that puts out flyers or info packets; Unless she wants a paycheck. She can even have a paper route; She can fold the papers and someone else like the neighbor kid can deliver them & they could split the money.

She can't do much. I would contact the National MS Society at the regional level. They may be able to hook her up with another organization which could get her a job. It is possible to do.
My own MS makes handling money and multitasking impossible. No physical labor, either. I sympathize.
Be careful of earning money if she is collecting LTD. It will reduce the LTD she is already getting.

Given impairment as serious as you describe, finding employment will be difficult. What you shoud do is get in touch with your local MS organization and Department of Vocational Rehapilitation. Let them help you find programs tha tmay be able to train and place your mother in a job.

She could work as a cleaner or doing washing and ironing. It is hard to say as so many people with MS have such different symptoms and in such varying degrees. She could maybe do data entry. Just entering numbers and facts into a computer. No thinking, walking or talking required.

Can she maybe do something with her hands? Type something into a computer, make something with her hands, like sow, paint, mark, put together or something like that? Assist in a kitchen (cut something, mix something)? I'm sure there are ways to find a job that is suitable for her.
Good luck!
