I live in Round Rock TX and am attending pain associates.I have a bullet lodged in my back and was recently told that due to my lack of participation I have no transportation and children I am being dropped. This also means I will be dropped from pain associates and will no longer recieve pain managment. Is this legal or fair? Can anyone remove this bullet? Can I be held to attending pt weekly for a permenent physical condition that pt seems to aggrivate? I was shot protecting my mother from an attempted murder but have been denied services as its not considered a domestic as I was not romantically involved with the shooter? Also I was told I am unable to obtain Pell or Stafford loan/grants prior to using all but 27.00 of my disability money which pays our bills why? I want to go to school so I can work again Does anyone know of any services for folks like me that are men but have been domestically assaulted?I am so scared about losing medical services/medications the pain never stops!

Hi, as far as having the bullet removed, only your doctor can tell you whether or not it can come out.

If PT aggravates the situation, Either the type of PT needs to be changed or you need a note from your doctor to get you out of it. Also, sometimes PT is very painful but helps in the long run — that's for you, your doctor and your therapist to discuss and decide.

There is nothing worse than unrelenting excruciating pain. Can your neurologist prescribe the meds you need? Or is there another pain management specialist you can go to?

I've never heard of being denied financial aid unless you only have $27 left — it does sound as if you will have to fight that.

Contact the Americans with Disabilities organization — you can find them on the computer. They will tell you what your rights are, and they will help you.

There are services for people who have disabilities — the fact that you were domestically assaulted is irrelevant — I've never even heard of anything like that.

Kudos to you for wanting to go back to school and work. Never give up!! Talk to your doctors. They can refer you to a social worker who can sort things out for you, help you find pain management, help you get the services you need.

I hope you get the help you need. Good luck.

I totally agree with the Homeopathic remedy Soul Doctor has prescribed, Silicea removed an inch long glass shred out of my little daughter's foot which had been in there for more the six months. Silicea got it out in 3 days time, not even dressing was needed afterwards. truly seemed like a miracle. Don't pay any heed to the nay sayers nothing works like Homeopathy.

Viva Homeopathy.

I even have 3 infants with disabilities. there isn't any way i might enable a company to torture my toddlers. There are different strategies. the college and the mummy and dad are the somewhat handicapped thus. between the lecturers and the mummy and dad, infants with disabilities could be helped and taught to act accurately.

Situations like yours can get complicated because of the often dysfunctional and counter-productive bureaucracy and rules.

Contact local disability advocacy organization)s)--they'll be in the phone book. Also check the American Association of People with Disabilities website for links to organizations that advocate for the disabled :

aapd-dc.org

Be prepared to pursue this agressively--you may need to take this one to court. Which is one reason to get intouch with these types of organizations--they canadvise you--and help you get a good lawyer if need be. Also--the situation and rules vary from state to state--and Texas may be fine in this regard, and the people you are dealing with are just out of line--but don't count on it. Texas generally does not have a very good reputation with regard to disability issues. So again--be prepared to fightit out.

Good luck to you! :)
