I read in this mornings paper that most Australians think that there mother country is America, whereas the Americans think that they are British which in turn upsets the British who think that the Australians should keep themselves separate from the UK. My question is, Who do they belong to?

The reason I ask is that I seem to see white people much happier and doing more fun things than black people, who seem to be less happy, and more reserved. Now I'm not trying to generalize here because of course I don't know everyone, but it seems that way based on my observations and I've been wondering.. Is there any truth to this.
Sorry in advance if this offends anybody.

There is no such country as Africa-America, so what gives? African American is not a logical term. I am an American, but my ancestory is: Irish, German, English, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Scottish and French. You are either American (you were born here) or you are not American (YOU came here from another country). But, if you want to get scientific about it...WE ARE ALL FROM AFRICA! Even if you want to get biblical about it, WE ARE ALL FROM AFRICA!

Isn't the fact that making a word appropriate and acceptable for one race and not another is indeed racism in and of itself? Is it really a matter of what's being said, or who is saying it? Why are there double standards in society? Am I a racist for asking this question? Does racist mean the acknowledgment of being a different race, or viewing one race as superior to another? Will racism ever really be dead? How much importance does it hold in today's society without the average person even knowing? Why is there a B.E.T. (black entertainment television.) Are we instilling racist beliefs on our upcoming generations? Why must schools have a certain % of nationalities in each district? Have we gone overboard with the term "politically correct?" Is the fact that a hate crime even exists racist?

I'm a Filipina with mixed blood, my dad's Mexican-Spanish, my mom's Filipino with Chinese blood. I'm very interested about Native American culture and I find First Nation men so beautiful. But I don't know if they are interested in other cultures, or do they only date among themselves?

I'm white and I want to know.

When a mexican does something..we are like..why do mexicans do that??

When a black does something..like Mike Vick..we are like "is that black culture?"

When a asian shot up Virginia Tech..the other asians on campus received death threats.

If I am wrong ..will someone else WHITE..tell me when we have ever been generalized to this extent.

My grandmother never let on. she just smiled. now, years later, i might face the same. how to die well is much written about in literature, but who lives like they might die some day? are politicians incapable of caring?

I think it is to me, I'm Black woman with a light skin tone like Alica Keys tone but is it offensive to call us "High Yellow" or "Redboned". Well Some of my family members will say "dnag girl you are so high yellow people always ask me are you mix with something". I can't stand that, when people say those things to lighter skin blacks.
