All western languages - Indo-European roots - are scripted beginning at the left, and then across to the right.

All Sinitic - ideographic(Chinese roots)- are scripted beginning at the right(down)and then across to the left.

Why is this?

They are always making comments like that, not in a malicious or disrespectful way but theyre implying that they really like white women which is a little surprising to me. For one Im thinking there is definitely racial tension between blacks & whites in the country & its just surprising to hear them say that....but what im really curious about is why, what is there obsession with white women. And also i wonder if black women mind when they hear that coming from black men. Lastly I hear them say that but its not all that often that I actually see a black/white couple, i mean its not uncommon but i just dont see it often.

i just really want to know.
i feel like i'm the only sensitive person basicly around popular kids who'll do anything & guys, ugh.
some ppl these days just treat me like a person who has no feelings.
i already know what sensitive & thick-skinned means but i want to hear your words too so i can understand better.

for everyone:
is it better to be balance, sensitive, or thick-skinned?

i've been through alot of tough stuff in my life & ppl say tough life experiences should make you thick-skinned but instead....i get more sensitive. wtf is that?

for sensitive people:
-what made you sensitive?

-do you like being sensitive?

-what is being sensitive mean?

-do you just burst out crying when somehurt hurt you or do you hold it in & stay hurt for awhile & jump to all kinds of conclusions? if not, then what?

for thick-skinned people:
-what made you thick-skinned?

-do you like being thick-skinned?

-what is being thick-skinned mean?

i was 10 years old and i walked into a variety shop owned by an asian family. at the same time one white girl walked in with me. i just went in to look at the stuff and one of the people who worked there kept following me around and watching my every move. the white girl was not followed at all. i was too young to understand why they were treating me this way...

i still have that problem today. im a fair skinned hispanic and i have friends who are of color and when i walk into some stores they do the same.

whats your story?

We go out for happy hour sometimes and my boss is like blacks are this and that..very negatively. I really just laugh it off and so to the other guys. I felt really bad today when he started talking about one of my beautiful black co-workers (looks like Naomi Cambell but not so much of a ho) very degrading saying that he just asks her to bring him things on purpose so he can look at her. Lots of "pretty for a dark black" comments and stuff. The other guys (all white) thought it was pretty funny stuff...they will prob follow suit. I mean really if she only KNEW the stuff they were saying about her!

Any one else work or live with people like this?

I personally think it does. It overshadows the good things that black people do..like higher rates of joining the army than any other race...higher rate of red cross volunteers than any other race..lowest rate of terrioristic acts (like bombing us buildings and shooting presidents) than any other race...

They also invented the automatic gear shift, traffic lights, refrigerators, irons, shoe soles, air conditioning, etc. does rap and crime overshadow this?

I wanted to get your opinion on British/English people and stereotypes about them. I've noticed that a lot of them seem to be rude and quite boring.

Some British/English people can be rude. They can be brutally honest and very opinionated. When I mean rude, I try to use examples of Simon (American Idol) Gordon Ramsay (Hells Kitchen) ect. I think you know what I mean.

I've been around them and worked with a lot of them. They don't seem to be as energetic as Americans. They seem to be more conservative than Americans. I guess that is why they have that stereotype of being 'boring stiffs'.

Anyways, your thoughts?

Then u would be black... but another friend told her she was considered white, because her mom was eurpoean... I know it doesnt matter what race soemone is and they can just click OTHER... But I am really just curious... What parent determines your ethnicity?
