when i drive my car there with texas plates i get weird looks but when i go with a friend from colorado in there car nobody acts weird to us

Well in some parts, Texans are people with big mouths and little minds. Remember the advertisement for traveling to Texas. "Texas - we're a whole nother country" That's true and not necessarily in a good way. The all time killer dumb award winning dim-witted statement was made by Texan "Dubya" when he stated that he believed no innocent person had ever been executed on death row in Texas.
Obviously some of this is stereotyping and I know none of these things are true of most Texans, but you asked and I answered.

I'm from Texas and I have never heard of people from Colorado not liking Texans... I dunno. I think they're probably just wondering what you're doing there. That's what I think when I see California plates or New York plates in Texas. I just have to wonder what they're doing here; what brought them all the way down here.

I've heard this before from someone else. I can't remember exactly, but I think it has to do with Texans owning land in Colorado and not managing it according to their standards. I think it has something to do with a lack of respect.

Try asking someone from Oklahoma. Could be a sports thing or maybe the whole, "I'm from Texas" braggart attitude.
