Yes they should grow up and have thicker skin or don't ask any question that would cause they feeling to get hurt. i believe in being blunt and to the point 90% of the time. That way no one can never make any mistake about what or who I am and what I meant. The 10% of the time I'm not blunt is when it come to kids.

Yeah, I think sometimes one can be too blunt. While I'd prefer folks have a thicker skin I also do my best to not hurt people unless it's over something that really eneds to be said. I really do believe there is a need for a more caring attitude in our world today. Anyone can randomly hurt people. It takes someone special to spread compassion.

What do you mean? Now where do you get off asking a question like that? LOL
Well, sometimes it would be better off to be more discrete, say for example is someone has a gun on you and is intent on taking your money. I think there it just might behoove you to not be too blunt and shut up while handing over your stuff. But that's just my 2 cents.
Some folks do need to get thicker skin, I agree with you, darlin, but that is why God allowed us to invent Guinness extra stout. Don't you think?

Do you mean onY!A or real life?
Sometimes people say things to put you down and make themselves feel better - that's unnecessary.
But sometimes the truth just needs to be told and heard so bluntness is required.

There is no limit to how truthful you want to be, it takes courage on the person who is blunt to tell it as it is. Saying that, there are certain things you may choose not to say to protect the other persons feelings

No. Sometimes you have to be blunt (as in a bad problem - should be done in private), but it is more important to be tactful. Tact never hurt anybody and you can accomplish a lot more using tact. "I was just being honest" should never be used as an excuse for being rude.

If you are speaking bluntly then you are speaking very literally, so why would they not "take everything so literal?"
Blunt is good, but tact is also important.

Well yes they should, but you can also buffer how you say things.
You can tell a friend, "you are really becoming a fat pig", or you can say, "you look a little run down. Can I help you in any way"?
Which one would you rather hear if you were on the receiving end?
cheers.
