are Italians considered white people

I just got off the phone with my cell phone company. I was disputing a charge on the bill. My phone broke. I sent phone off for repairs and they sent me back a brand new phone, but charged me for it. I didn't ask for a new phone. I would rather have gotten my old back with all my ringtones and pictures on it. but they sent me a new one (empty) and had the nerve to charged me for it. The white lady basically refused to adjust it. I hung up on her called right back and got a black dude. he had no problem adjusting. Why is that? why was the white lady acting like if she adjusted the bill the money was coming out of her pocket?

Not all white reps. are bad. But it seems like the bad ones are always white? (and yes, I can tell when I am talking to a black or white person on the phone)

I was luckily born here in the US. My Parents are from Hungary and I had a T-Shirt on saying Proud to be Hungarian and I was in the mall and the Security Stopped me and said its Racist and I would be asked to leave the mall..And Of Chorse I threw a fit and talked with his supervisor and all..I still had to leave..is that really being racist? People should be proud of who they are..im white so if I were to wear a shirt or even to say im proud to be white will I be concidered racist? I dont understand..someone please help me..im not a racist..just proud of my herittage!

i think that this is simply retarded...you dont want others to call you that but why do you call each other that...i think with the whole "burial" of the word, you would be happy, like i know it's not going to stop anyone from using but still...my opinion is if you can call yourself that it's ok for someone else to call you that. Personally i think NO ONE should call anyone that...comments?

I have seen many light-skinned african american people being called not black enough.

Examples are when vanessa williams won miss America the african american "commitee" told her that her win was nothing to celebrate in the black comunity because she was not "black" enough.
That was a while ago though.....
Recently Halle Berry won an Academy Award for best actress and many african american people said that it didn't matter to them because, like williams, she wasn't "black" enough.

My questions are:
Would you ever say that a person is not "black" enough?
Why?
Why would they not be "black" enough?
(skin color?,behavior?)
What would qualify that person as being "black"?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20203888/

The article also states that 93% of the murderers of these black victims are other blacks.

'National Urban League President Marc Morial, a former mayor of New Orleans, said the data reflect a trend that cannot be reversed by law enforcement alone. It will require changes in public education and a revival of federal summer jobs programs for economically disadvantaged young people, he said.

“The mixture of illegal drugs, easy access to handguns, and young men who feel locked out of economic opportunity is what these statistics reflect,” Morial said.'

What Mr. Morial failed to also list in the reasons why this is occuring is;

1. young kids are being raised in single parent households and we all know that a lot of times, single parenting can keep one in poverty. (I'm from the projects, I don't need a link to back that info up. I have seen it with my own eyes)

some are so fake. why do ppl lie and cheat , pretend to be what they're not, and then put others down for being who they are? if you dont have your word, you have nothing. lets just try to be honest and show some compassion, how hard is it to stand up and do the right thing now? star if you agree

How do you really find the kind of person that you know you want, and how can you explore your options to the best possibilites? It's hard for me to find someone. I'm a deep person and i like to know someone deeply. It takes time and effort on both sides to accomplish that. I like to have an idea of what their thinking and what they want to say. How do i find those guys to choose from? For me right now, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. How can i better reverse that analogy? How (and maybe, where) can i find the type of relationships i want in more encouraging numbers?

Just saying because if I like someone who is Muslim and I'm not Muslim, It wouldn't work because I'm use to my ways and I don't think I could convert.

I don't date interracially or anything but I was just wondering because I think religion is harder than race

I know a girl who is (stricken) Muslim and she liked a Christian guy but it wouldn't work because her family would disown her unless he converted, they are both black.

I like both genders and am fed up of being told to choose between the two. I am rarely intimate but I can enjoy being intimate with other humans regardless of gender. What is it with these people who claim to accept gay people but reject the whole concept of bisexuality?

Why is it ok for black people to use the N word to talk about themselves, but if a white says it it's racist? I mean, get some respect. I am not being racist here in any way, I just want to know why black people think its ok to call themselves N's even though many of their ancestors fought for their rights to be treated equally and not called things like that. I think black people who do that are a disrespect to their own culture. I don't understand why someone would want to do that?

And no offense, but it is usually the white girls that are heavier. I see a lot of Latin guys with these types of white girls now, almost every other couple I see it is a Latin guy with a (usually husky) white girl. Is this a new phenomenon or I just never noticed it before? I am also wondering how Latinas feel about this. Do some of you mind? It seems like you don't, but some black girls get mad when they see a black guy with a white girl.

Im just asking. My friend is enrolled and wants me to take the class with her. The professor is a white lady from pennsylvania. There is no indication from reading her profile that she has ever been to Africa. I plan to go and ask if she has, and if she says no. Im walking out.

Would you take that class?

I've noticed that many Italian-Americans like to act as if watching The Sopranos & The Godfather and talking with a cocky Brooklyn accent as if it "makes them Italian" by doing so. I'm not one to judge, but if you are so proud of your culture, why not learn the Italian language and actually go to Italy instead of acting like the American representation of Italian people and being content to do so? I noticed that there's actually more "wannabe-Italian"-Americans than ACTUAL Italian-Americans here? I see the difference.
