i noticed that many people in united states discriminate against gothic people. could you please let me know why?
i am from south asia who likes the idea of darkness, goth metal and poems. as a cosmopolitan, i see gothic people as just normal human beings...but i really wonder why people are so mean to them.

I am African American and i believe the government should have many social programs for the less fourtunate, raise the minimum wage, and I do not support the war in Iraq. Heres another side I don't believe in abortion,gay marriages, stem cell research, and other things like that. I am also a devout Christain.

I'm doing research on my family background, and almost anyone who is a Chowdhury knows some of their history and that they were given that title by the British because their family was rich. My question is do you know if it was common for the British back then to "mingle" with the Chowdhury's? I'm asking because I have some sublte caucasian features that no one in my family has, but is evident in my appearance.

I'm looking for ideas for discussion topics. They shouldn't be too controversial such as religion and politics which might offend some people. One teacher spoke about the importance of responsiblity and which of the five requires the most responsiblity. Drinking alcohol, smoking, driving, marriage and having a baby. Any ideas?

Why do we have people telling us that it is okay to suck at maths?
Why do we have parents telling their children who have passion in maths, to forget it and treat their subject as a mere preresquisite to a medical school?
Why do we have the movies portraying math geniuses as short, ugly, cowardly, pencil-necked, bookish, freckle-ridden, D&D obsessed, Yu-Gi-Oh card collecting nerds everyone wants to push to the mud at the school gates?
And working mathematicians as idiots who couldn't think anything else than numbers?

BET, Free college, "I don't like the N word but I'll use it 50 times a day", and criticize white people. I mean when some one calls me a whitey or a cracker or whatever it doesn't bother me, i have enough pride and self respect to know that that doesn't bother me and maybe that person HAS problems. Maybe some people need their own pride of their race. And get OVER it like white people do. I GET RACIAL REMARKS TO.....It just bothers me how it was "omg..racist, racist and we need to be EQUAL" when theirs black history month..do you see a white history month? or do i get free college or discounts on things because I'm white. or does anyone see a WET channel NO. our channel have to have 1 white person, 1 black person and 1 Asian person.

The ignorant people on here embarass me, really. I know that they are probably just pathetic little boys with nothing better to do than to attempt to bring people down over the computer. Probably the kids getting stuffed in lockers at school and beat down daily.
But for the most part I've noticed that MOST of the truly ignorant, racist, just plain stupid questions come from the white folks on here. I applaud all those who answer the borderline questions with decent responses, and showing decency in the face of the ignorant ones. Especially the African-Americans and the Muslims whom for the most part handle it extremely well and don't generalize their answers, as many of the stupid questions are geared to them.
I am going to say Im peach because some people on this forum embarass me to much to be otherwise.

I was told that once by an Asian . I have always noticed how Asians pull back their heads when speaking to a white person. And no I don't get complaints about my body smell. I have been told not to bathe before sex on many occasions by other whites because I had a natural erotic smell.

i was talking to some minorities...they were black to i said as "africa americans" an d right there all of them stoped me. one said i am not african american i'm mexican, the other said i'm not african american i'm haitian, the other said he's this or that...they vehimently told me that they feel offended being linked to black americans, one of tem was even african...i dont mind them differitiating from black americans but it's just they told me they felt insulted one they are considered as one...why do you tihnk?? look this isnt a racist question...i just want to understand why they would think that...thank u

I want to ignore skin color in my day to day life and look at individuals and guage them purely on merit.but blacks always drag the issue of color into every subject.an academy award is an acomplishment for blacks,the first black head coach to win a superbowl,new orleans is gonna be a chocolate city and he(Nagin) still gets elected.could you imagine a white politician making a simialer comment.why cant it just be an academy award,why cant the superbowl just be about football and new orleans just be a great city for everyone.Making everything about the color of their skin cant help but cause resentment and be divisive.I was under the impression that blacks didn't want to be distinguished by the color of their skin.

I have a project where I have to cook a jewish meal. I am not sure tho. I have asked one of my jewish friends and they eat it but, it contains pork which is against their dietary laws.
