Some blacks hate white people and want to get a free rid through life by reminding us of things that happened hundreds of years ago and have nothing to do with any living American. People like Jesse Jackson make a career of it and hope they can find examples of racism so they can keep blaming whites for the problems blacks caused for themselves.
Martin Luther King said people should be judged by "the content of their character, not the color of their skin". I agree with him, but every black who calls for affirmative action, reparations, and such things as the BET are going against what Dr. King taught. One of the stupidest honkies (I'm a honkie so I can use that word...lol) ever was the one who shot Dr. King. Dr. King, being the honorable man he was, would tell them to appreciate the freedom they now have and go get a job instead of standing in the welfare line telling whitey he better pay up or else there will be a riot.
Like Ice -T said, "set your goals, work hard, and wait".
Neither Ice-T or MLK wanted welfare, and those who say whitey owes them something are lazy bums who have found a way to capitalize on the guilt they make gullible whites feel over something no living American is guilty of or has been the victim of.
I'm part Jewish, and my ancestors were slaves in Egypt and more recently in Germany under Hitler, who deliberately worked them to death. You won't hear me whining for part of King Tut's gold or a free Volkswagon. I'm free, and so are American blacks.
If blacks want to do something to help other blacks they can go to Darfur, Sudan where Arab Muslims have black African slaves now and help free them. When blacks whine about racism in America they are just being greedy and trying to get something for nothing. Go to Darfur and help a brother out ...

Racial pride should not come from simply being alive. It should come from exhibiting a good character and being an honest hard working person. Blacks who are hard working have always wanted equality. They have always wanted the right to vote, to have a quality education, to have access to employment opportunities, etc. Blacks have "this" and "that" because equality did not always exist. My parents, who are alive today, did not have equality…and they were born long after slavery ended. Some were stronger than others were. They were able to stand strong against a society of racist. Some however were not as strong. Some were weak and to damaged to deal effectively with the world around them.
1. BET is owned by a white man and is made up of programming that degrades women, promotes violence and stupidity, and shows the worst of black music. I would not say that BET is for blacks. What you see in the media does not speak for all blacks.
2. I had to pay for college through parental contributions, loans, federal aid, and scholarships. These all were available to everyone as those were from the federal government. Blacks do not receive a free ride to college simply because they are black. They usually have to achieve something. Yes, there is the ***** College Fund. There is also a college fund for everything imaginable from the child of a veteran to the left-handed violin player. When the money is not federal but paid by private sources, that source can dictate who receives the money.
3. People who still us the n-word are foolish. It is a derogatory word and should not be used so carelessly.
4. Wouldn't I be nice if black history were incorporated into American history books that are used in schools? I wish that all who helped shape America were noted in these texts.
This problem took centuries to create and it will take as long if not longer to fix. Unfortunately, some have chosen not to behave in a civil manner, on both sides. Racism is denying a person equal access to rights as a US citizen. It is an equal right for a child to attend a safe, competent school. It is not the right of US citizens to have a TV network. That is a privilege that is afforded us as a capitalist society – it has nothing to do with race and everything to do with the dollar.

I don't celebrate Black History month for the fact that many Black people act as though they don't appreciate the freedom we have these days. Many of our people are falling off. But it shouldn't be a problem seeing how every race has history within their own. We have Columbus day, Chinese New Year, Cinco De Mayo, and I accept all that, and I accepted learning history of Columbus, British Empire, Roman Empire, White slave masters and all that back in high school during History Class. History is an important part of any culture, and Black History is no different from anything else, it's American History. I too hate the N word, and I hate any words directed at people concerning their race and background.

Ok not all black people cry about racism. And many blacks cant get the things you get honkey so deal with it. Just because your skin is whiter than mine you get into colleges when you walk into a job interview you will probably get it against the black girl. There is already a WET channel, plenty of white shows without an ounce of black hopping around. No white history month because whites get every single day dedicated to them. EVERYDAY!. Lol.

I have wondered that same thing myself. But, this is one of those questions that will remain unanswered. Anything that gets said about it will always become a huge epidemic and be turned around into some big thing. I dont think you are racist for posting this comment, and I sure am not racist...but the first black or asian or hispanic that comes across this will sure think so. People are so close minded and that is the reason why. There is nothing but truth in what you asked...but they wont see it that way.

If you look back on things blacks get treated differently from whites not because of racism but because of the that we are able to be from slavery from after so many years as we learn about our ancestors and how they struggled we realized how lucky we are to have all of these opptions for us and all of these things to celebrate our freedom from slavery if you put your self in the shoes of a black person you will see why we get all of these things and why we are treated differently from whites because are country has always been ran by white people so it's not a racial issue it is a not a matter of the skin color.Black people do not like to be called ******* (the n word) because it was the term that the white man used during slavery so don't compare the way black people and white people are because we deserve every thing that we have and I'm not just saying this cause I'm black but because it is the right answer to your question

What else is important to a social group with a 70% high school dropout rate? For interest, check out the obesity rates, dietary styles and cooking habits, and heavy use of salt. Facts and figures are neither pro nor con, just statistics..

AMEN! They also get to call each other the n word but if you hear a white person say it we are racist and some sort of justis must be done. and they still hold slavery against us like it was our generation that owned them, and no matter where you are the white man is always trying to hold them back. FROM WHAT? and you sure never see white comedy jam, a white man could never get away with the cruel jokes they always make about us.

NO, no, no sweetie you got it all mixed up. When a white man is put in this world against a black man their is a 95% chance that a white man will live in a better neighborhood. When a white man is born their is a 1000% chance that he will not be descriminated against, versus a black man. Why do white people make it as if we are so paranoid like it doesnt exist. If someone calls youa cracker they are poking at your skin if someone called me a N they would be poking me in a 400yr. wound. And think about just for one example: In black colleges their are a 0:40 white to black person rate. In Ivy League their is a 1:80 black to white person rate now put youself in our shoes and examine the world with a worn out pair of BLACK glasses.
