Notice how Asians bow rather than shake hands... they don't make eye contact either (this goes for a lot of non-western cultures). It's bad manners to get too much into someone else's personal space (the necessities of modern overcrowding or agressive haggling aside...but if you've heard the accounts of the orderliness of the massive numbers of people Japanese or Hong Kong public transit, you get the picture). Just a cultural thing that I wouldn't take personally, but I would respect it in any social situation as a general rule (apparently Donald Trump prefers these Eastern cultural traits and he's the last person you would see respecting them).
BTW, on the other point, Napoleon, before returning to France, sent a message to Josephine telling her not to bathe for three days because the french thought the smell of sweat enhanced sex.

Whoever said that has never been to Asia. It is the opposite. Asians have a smaller zone of comfort of personal space than Caucasions. Asians like talking closer to the person they are talking to than Caucasians. When in Asia you see Caucasians unconsciously backing up because Asians don't feel comfortable talking to someone so far away so they move closer. Caucasians don't like people standing too close so they move away.
Secondly most of Asia is hot -- real hot. You are soaked in sweat most of the time and it takes time to get used to the body odour of any person, Asian or Caucasian or any other race. Race has nothing to do with "smell."
The Japanese have been fans of baths for centuries and the English introduced the daily bath\shower to common culture in the early 1900s. Before the American\European average was a bath once a week.

Everyone smells a certain was as an individual, not as a race. As an experiment you could go to the laundry mat and smell socks and see if you could identify the race of the owner.

I'm not Asian, I'm black.. Most black people think that white people have a very distinctive odor especially when wet. I am just being honest.
