Black people seem to think alot of things are racist, they'd automaticly think if we had a month for whites, Asians, etc, that we racist, because they think just because they were enslaved, they need to be treated like kings, but guess what? It ended almost 150 years ago, get with the times, what makes them better? Do they know in Africa blacks still enslave eachother? Maybe its because whites were never considered a minority, but other races were, but now because Whites actually know how to limit how many kids to have and now we're becoming the minority. Alot of Black and Mexican kids at my school consider everything racist, like if a white teacher gives you a bad grade that you DESERVED, that kid will yell out something like "Thats racist" Theres only a few civilized Black people I know, such as our one neighbors, and my friend Crystal and her family.

Because history was written by primarily by white men. History books have been recently changing to implement contributions by minorities. The more recent the book, the more cross-sections they have on what women were doing or what was happening in the black community. Eventually there won't be a need for a black history month, because everyone will know and appreciate the contributions that black Americans have made to this country, the trials they have suffered and overcome.

That's because society fears the retrobution of a white history month. This was started decades ago to sort of give some sort of payback and tribute to those our anscestors have wronged. It's like Christmas, Hanakah, and any other holiday that is age old. It's there for a reason and will remain there exactly for that same reason it was put there.
I do agree that in order to stop racism completely, EVERYONE needs to be treated equal, however, if those of you who really claim to want a white history month...please keep in mind of what it would consist of. We would have the settlers who stole the land from the Indians, the reliving of the people sold into slavery, and lets not forget our founding forefathers who encouraged that. On top of it all, there isn't one true blooded American in this country. We've all come from somewhere, whether it be Poland, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Russia, etc.....we are all a mixed race...why does the color of the skin matter so much? Especially in this day and age? I have five children and if it weren't for black history month, they wouldn't have learned about Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, or any other great icon of that period.
Think people....for just once....stop and think. It's comments like this that keeps breeding racism. We all bleed the same color, our hearts love and hurt the same....we come together in the face of adversity because we are ONE nation under God. You are foolish if you believe otherwise.

Honestly, I'm black and although I honor Black History Month for what it is, it still disturbs me. It's like saying that over 400 years of accomplishments are only good enough to be placed into a month (the shortest month of the year i might add), but I will still honor it because it accents the accomplishments of my race...but i digress...
On another note, some people tend to think that it's important for minorities in the country to have certain times when their ancestor's accomplishments are shown because they otherwise wouldn't have been, (such as Hispanic History Month).
Some people also think that white americans are given so much already just because they are white. At times they think that everyone already knows the history/culture of white america. No, I'm not saying I'm agreeing with this idiotic ideology because I believe that every race in America is important. It's what makes America what it is.
But from my own personal experience, when I was in grade school, most of our history focused on the European discovery of the "New World" and it's development from there to current. Maybe some people just think that their race, whether they're asian, hispanic/latino. african-american, and so on feel the need to show that they have played a role in history as well.
Basically, don't be offended about this month. Celebrate your culture all year long no matter where you come from.

Because we have become a nation of apoligist, terrified that we might offend someone.White children are learning to be ashamed of their ancestors and walk around with their tails tucked betwen their legs. we are portrayed in the media as wimps and nerds when it is the WHite man who put America on the Map.Blacks say we should be tolerant of others and other lifestyles but where is their tolerance when it comes to being proud of the white race.if you are a black racist they call you a civil rights leader.if your white your just a narrow minded bigot. There is a definate double standard in this Country and most Whites are growing extremely sick of it,we WILL do something about it but it wont be running rampant in the streets and burning down our own property

Give me a reason why there shouldn't be a Black history month and why there should be a White history month. In this country everyday is white history, why not be selfless and learn about another aspect of American history. Black history is American history, so why wouldn't you want to learn about it?

because blacks are taking it too far
when my acnestors had slaves, one of them stole from us, so according to them, wut we did to them, they need pay back, should go in reverse
so i want my golden candle back
if that seems racist to you, then you probly think white history month is racist too, only because its said by a white man and you think blacks arent racist either
