Please explain to me the difference between "stereotyping" and "celebrating cultural differences".

If I say "Italian people eat pizza", is this a generalization? Does this offend some people?

Black people like basketball, Asian people eat rice, White people like NASCAR. Am I racist and ignorant, or "celebrating diversity"?

someone in my town that, they quickly come to their town's defence and disagree with my views. They can never, for one second be objective when it comes to judging their stupid little town. It's laughable because things are so obviously lousy here and yet they will try to deny it just because it's their hometown and badmouthing their hometown is the same as badmouthing them. They've never been exposed much to the modern city folks. Everybody thinks and talks the same it's driving me crazy here. My town sucks sucks sucks!! I grew up here too but at least I'm unbiased and tell things as it is. I feel so alone because of this. Does this ever happen to you?

1979 Basketball season. I went to an away game and on the way back we crossed a bridge that went through a park in Oregon outside of Lebanon. On both sides of the bridge next to the river below us were hundreds of KKK men. All dressed in white with pointed hats and black eyes. I was 13 and scared to death. The driver told us to duck and she drove very very fast through the park to the other side and away from them. I peaked. I am 40 now and it is still a very real memory.

Also, why is any lighter skinned person seen as higher than a darker skinned person , not just in America but, around the world. Chinese are "whiter" than the japanese or other asian races. The main cause of racism is the superiority complex of lighter skinned races. not because of other reasons.

First off, I have no interest in responses that have mention of.... Well, its what counts on the inside! Or it is quite shallow to ask if a man is a better lover by is nationality! Have fun with my question and try not to get too serious.Unless of course you know for a fact that the english are better lovers in that case I would be very interested.Best answer goes to whoever has an honest opinion about the matter. Alot of people these days think that Asian people are people that have chinky eyes. And when they think of countries like India and such, they dont consider it as part of asia and instead a sub-continent. So is India a sub-continent or a part of asia?

I mean, it's not every single American's fault that Bush is our President, yet when I visited England this year a man said to me that we were "ruining the world". I didnt do anything! (this of course is coming from a Liberal Californian). It has made me, in turn, become defensive. (Which the man of course took as stubborness, which i'm not, for I am entitled to defend my country, right?)

I'm just sick of generalizations and stereotypes from other countries. I want to know why they hate Americans.

When minimum wage increases, the cost of production increases, that means that the cost of everything goes up.
When that happens it causes people to want minimum wage to go up, it is a vicious cycle.
The only way to stop it is to stop increasing minimum wage.

I ask this because I see a lot interracial relationships,I'm multi-racial (Black, Native-American, and Chinese) for some reason this gives me peace. And sometimes sadness cause the real world reminds me how many racists there are. What about you?

They also gossip, say, and yell ignorant stuff. My boyfriend is mixed with black and white. But everyone thinks he's white cause he could really pass as white. I don't give hateful looks when I see a black man with a white women. It doesn't bother me. But with the other way around why does it bother them so bad?
