I recently read an article with the following quote: "Tellingly two founders of a ministry established to 'heal' homosexuals later described their program as 'ineffective ... not one person was healed'."

Before you answer this question, please give it some deep thought. I am asking this question for a college survey assignment.

Check out this article, if you can:
http://www.boston.com/news/globe/magazine/articles/2005/08/14/what_makes_people_gay/

Question: Why are some people gay? Do you believe that 80% of people (including heterosexuals) have had an attraction to their same gender at some point in their life? Do you believe being gay is a phase? Or do you believe people are born gay? What makes people gay? Is it genetics? Why do you think so? Or is it a choice? In a society that makes it very difficult to be gay, why do you think people would make that choice? Do you think people's upbringing and lifetime circumstances affect people and cause them to become gay?

If you live in a major city where there is a gay neighborhood ("gay ghetto") do you live there or not? Why or why not?

Either for yourself or someone you loved?

Not one of these sites is quite appropriate for work or children. (My office is much more liberal than yours, I guarantee it.)

There is a special dye available now that makes carpets match the drapes, or you can have hot pink carpet.

And at a fun but expensive Manhattan spa called completely bare, you can get services called "Completely Bare with a Flair" (designs in Swarovski crystals) and "Bikini Graffiti" (the design of your choice, airbrushed onto your newly blank...um, canvas.)

I can't wait to read responses. ;-D

This is for gay guys out there. How do you know if that cute guy you are staring at on the train (or sidewalk, whatever) is 1) gay and 2) also checking you out? Is there a common signal given? Some sort of staring or glancing protocol? I am interested in your opinions.

I know that being gay, a lesbian, bisexual and straight is not a choice. To me its a feeling. I guess I grew up with having the whole "God created you to get married to the opposite sex" whole thing and I didn't believe that is true. In fact unfortunately lost my faith in God a long time ago. Anyway I keep having dreams of woman, yet Im engaged to my boyfriend. I keep dreaming of having sexual relations with them and thinking of different woman and how attractive they are. I just don't know if I would be classified as bisexual. Im starting to really think I am. What do you guys think? Any advice?

It is so funny that as a woman I found it so hard to meet a serious woman who has her head on right. Who is not a game player. Come on women, you know that men play games. So why do you?

being gay is a choice? How do you know that, if you don't have the feelings that we do?

I was totally infatuated with this guy and I blurted out in the heat of passion "I LOVE YOU!"

He got up, got his stuff together, and left awkwardly. Never heard from him again.

I don't think I've ever felt so humiliated!

Anyone have stories to share?

He would look just like a guy, live as a guy, but...well, still has female equipment down below. Would that bother you?

So...are you really attracted to the same GENDER or is your sexual orientation REALLY based on liking the same BIOLOGICAL SEX?

What about a pre-op male-to-female transsexual? She sees herself as a woman, lives as one, but still has male equipment. Would that bother you?

Also, in the case of dating a pre-op female to male transsexual, he would look like a man, live as one, but still have "female" equipment. So, would it be easier for you to be with him, since he still has female parts?

Is your attraction really based on liking the same GENDER or liking the same SEX?

Why would someone flirt with you if they don't really want to date them or have a relationship? And its not someone who is just flirty by nature?
two other things ..they are married, and supposedly straight.

O.K. When in an evening gown competition, should the shoes match the color of the body of the dress or should it match the color of the trim? For example, if the dress is black with silver sequin trim should the shoes be black or silver? shiny or matte?
