O.K. When in an evening gown competition, should the shoes match the color of the body of the dress or should it match the color of the trim? For example, if the dress is black with silver sequin trim should the shoes be black or silver? shiny or matte?

I'd do silver.

Make the dress match the trim, you don't want too much of the same color. Say a black dress, silver trim, by wearing shoes that are silver, it will bring out the dress more. But if you wore black shoes away, it would take away from the dress.

It could be either, the 'safest 'option would be to wear shoes that are the same colour as the body of the dress. I also think matte shoes(maybe suede) look more sophisticated for and evening outfit.

If you want to shorten the leg match the shoe to the lowest color on the dress. If you want to elongate the leg match it to the highest color on the dress. If you want to simply sparkle and shine match it to anything in the outfit!

LOL!
I don't think it matters much, I think either would work. Personally I'd go for the silver shoes (shiny).

Good luck!

it depends on the dress, typically i would say go with the color of the dress, that way you present one long line, and it flows. you dont really want people to focus on the feet by drawing attention to them. ( i know the shoes are fabulous! but the judges should focus on the whole look, not just the shoes. lolololol)

That's a good question and it should be silver and shiny.

COMPLIMENT your gown don't "match" unless you buy your gowns at Sear's (Gown In A Bag)
