Ok, there is something I don’t understand. Is there not a law that says that government and religion are to stay separate? I’m not asking sarcastically, or to make any point. I believe there is, but I honestly don’t know for sure. Assuming there is, how can bush say that we have to protect the sanctity of marriage? Isn’t that a reference to the Bible’s definition of marriage? If there isn’t a law saying that church and state are to be separate….A.) there should be, and B.) If we are trying to protect the sanctity of marriage, why don’t we shut down these places in Las Vegas where drunken vacationers go to get married by an Elvis impersonator, only to get divorced the next week? I mean, is that what we are protecting? And also, I know that the first amendment gives us all equal rights. How is limiting gay and lesbian’s to civil unions and commitment ceremonies equal, or fair. Is it not just like when we had segregated schools? That wasn’t fair, or equal. So, isn’t it kinda unconstitutional to tell homosexuals “You cant get married, but you can have the next best thing, because marriage is reserved for the heterosexual society“? I want to know peoples options on this regardless if you are for or against gay marriage. I only ask that your respectful, because I’m not looking to make anyone mad, or have anyone go off on a tangent. I’ve tried to word this so it wont offend anyone, and if it dose, I apologize. I’m just curious.

that gay people only expect to have sexual relationships with another GAY person and not out to destroy anybody else's marriage or "convert" heterosexuals. People who are secure in themselves AND their religious beliefs have no just cause to be threatened by diversity. No hateful posts, please?

I saw this article (http://fakegaynews.com/index.php/2006/07/lgbts-lobby-for-own-do-not-call-list/) on Fake Gay News and it instantly made me think of all the stupid people that we put up with around here.

My favorite part:

"Inspired by the national Do Not Call list which prohibits unauthorized solicitations over the phone, LGBT non-profits are lobbying for new legislation in Congress. The bill would authorize the creation of a new national registry for LGBT persons who don’t want to answer straight people’s stupid gay questions.

Those placed on the registry would be allowed to tell inquiring minds to leave them alone. Types of inquiries that would be placed off limits include questions about how one has sex with someone of the same sex, who plays the man and who plays the woman, and asking an individual to summarize what the gay community is thinking on any issue. "

If homosexuality was normal, it would be the end of the human race, how can it not be wrong.

SO if homosexuality is just a choice then being straight is a choice that you have made..right so far?? So Brad why not choose to be gay for say 90 days and become a real authority on the subject. Remember how easy it is to switch roles..you've already indicated that you're an expert on this...And then after 90 days you could just snap your fingers .....and be straight again. Just think of the world acclaim you would receive when you proved your theory....and you could describe life as a straight man who chose to be gay who chose to be straight. Why you could even possibly sell the movie rights for it. So what do you say Brad---man enough to give it a go?

i've heard many people tell me homosexuality is a choice. i've heard many people tell me it is what you are born with. some people even say it is passed down through a gene. well, for those who care, my theory...

out of all the above theories people use to explain homosexuality, i believe none of them. none of these theories have been proven so they remain what they are; theories.

being a religious person, i cannot believe that God would create a person to be homosexual when He destroyed a city (according to the bible) full of homosexuals doing homosexual acts. God offered them a warning and they did not stop engaging in homosexuals acts, so, "ka-pow"

i also find it hard to believe it is a choice. i admit, even i did not chose to be straight. and the whole gene theory is whack to me since there is no proof of this gene.

what i do believe is this: (continued on additional details)

~Is homosexuality a choice? When you make decisions (also called choices) that is a choice isn't it? We may be INCLINED to prefer a male vs. a female, but whether to engage in sex or not is certainly a choice no? God given free will?
~Animals don't make choices, they run on instinct. Humans are supposed to have the mental capacity to discern right and wrong, good choices/bad choices.
~Do homosexuals have a choice, or are they driven by instinct, like an animal? And do you want children around people who claim they have no control over their behavior? If you can't handle the question, go away, the adults are trying to talk ok?

To those of you who came out to your friends and/or family about being gay, was it something you thought about and planned or did you just bring it up in friendly conversation out of the blue? The reason I ask is because I was watching Inside Edition with my parents tonight and of course the top story was about Lance Bass....so with me being in the closet still it was awkward sitting there watching this and at the end my mom said that it's good that he's happy with being himself....i feel like i should have said something, but i felt rather caught off guard. I'm seriously ready to start coming out...I'm going to start with my brother next week and move onto mom and then to a select few friends....but I don't know if planning the whole event is just going to make it harder. I was talking with one of my friends on the phone today and felt like blurting it out of no where, but I don't have the balls to do that lol (no pun intended)

I want full backed up answers.

If you reply with "its nasty" I am going to report you for the response being incomprehensible.

If you reply with "its a sin", the same rules apply.

I want SENTANCES. I want reasons, if its because of your religion, tell me WHY.

I personally believe its fine, and we [myself being bisexual] should be allowed to openly express our feelings just as much as you [heterosexuals] are.

Now wait, I'm not asking what you think is wrong with being gay, intelligent folks understand there's a difference. The question is, since some people ARE gay (and who would claim to be if they were not), why would letting them promise to love each other (and no one else) be a bad thing? Isn't the problem most people have with gays that they sleep around and spread disease? Well, then wouldn't having them in comitted relationships make you feel better about it? Do we really think that if we persecute these folks long enough they will all turn normal? That's ignorant. Again, I am not justifying any lifestyle, just asking clarification for whay the marriage objection is.

Add-on: If your point is that it is very bad, would you support some law to imprison gays and lesbians?

I'm not gay, but I don't understand why reasonable think that gay marriage is that big of a deal. I've been married for almost 10 years and I don't understand what effect this would have on my wife and I.

How can being homosexual be wrong when 200 known species in the animal kingdom practice homosexuality. I got this information from the National Geographic Channel. You can't justify hate to someone that is being themself. wouldn't you think the world would be boring if everyone was the same sexuality, religion and even all look the same.

I'm gay, and I'd like to have a girlfriend in high school, but I'm not sure how to "come out." I can't exactly wear a sign on my back saying "LESBIAN; SINGLE AND LOOKING." I think that if it's widely known, I might get raped and/or beaten. I seriously doubt girls go around hitting on other girls until they find a lesbian. How do I do this?
