Trust me, not everyone is "turning gay," nor is everyone even gay to begin with.

The percentage of people in our country who are gay is in the lower single digits.

Don't believe this crap that gays often tell us, when they say that 10 percent (or 15, or 20, or whatever the latest "fad" stat is) of the population is gay.

It's not even close to that!

It only seems that "everyone is turning gay" -- after all, a disproportionately high percentage of print and broadcast journalists are gay, meaning that you have a snowball's chance in hell of reading the negative truths about homosexuality in the mainstream media.

The media and the popular culture often portray homosexuality as a healthy, normal lifestyle -- when in truth it's riddled with disease, unhappiness, psychological issues, drug and alcohol abuse, and death.

Homosexuality is trendy -- but it would not be if more people knew the truth about it.

Only a homophobic would ask this. Why does someone's sexuality matter? If they are your friend, it really shouldn't and i am sure it took a lot of courage to admit that although I don;t think it should be hidden or over exposed. I think it is what it is and some will agree or disagree these people did not wake up and become gay but have always had some kind of homosexual tendencies and it is genetic and not usually a one day decision. Does it bother you he or she prefers the same sex partner?

Additionally, it has become trendy to act gay and become sexually active in girls in high school and college. they call it safe sex. As far as the boys i am not up on that, but I live near a couple teachers and they told me in the high end vilalge they teach this is quite popular. Are they really gay? Who knows. Who cares.

LOL. Now that Lance Bass is gay? Like he wasn't yesterday? Or last year? Or all his life?

But sometimes a celebrity coming out gives others the courage. Your best friend could probably use a best friend who acts as though the were his best friend, though. He's probably not doing well with knowing that instead of supporting him, you're griping about it on Yahoo.

LOL

No one "turns gay". They're born that way. I know it must be a shock to a lot of the straight world....that so many people are gay. But I think it's because more and more people are coming out. Actually letting the world know they are gay. And before you hit me with that "well, I don't want to know" crap, then how about me not wanting to know about straight folks and their "bedroom" activities? It's every where. Movies, books, TV, music, advertising.

I don't feel that way, though. I don't have a problem with folks being straight and showing it. Just like straight folks shouldn't have a problem with gay folks being open. The numbers of gay people in the world aren't changing, you're just hearing about it more.

People are finally able to be honest with themselves and the world, without being controlled or intimidated. It's about time. Good for Lance Bass.

I don't think everyone is "turning" gay although I'm sure there are some that have "turned gay". I think for the most part people are starting to shed their fears of what society will think because we're learning as a gay community that we are NOT alone anymore!!!!

They are tired for a woman-man relationship and the people do public display of affection and even in movie, television, radio magazines and other medias. Theyre too sucked on it plus theyre too hurt because they are unsuccesful in wowing a girl and too painful that some of people younger than them do the things with the girl which they dont so they experiment with other things.

The world is more accepting of homosexuality and people are curious. Sometimes it might be true, but sometimes they are just trying something that they think arouses them. Maybe it is a way for a guy to get some, when he is woman hating....I dont know the answer, but I think it is ok for people to experiment.

Everyone is turning gay? I must have missed that memo... last time I checked people did not 'turn' gay, as 'turning' is an action that implys a choice in the matter.

how old are you? certain age groups have a lot of people coming out, like high school and college. about the time i came out in 10th grade, about half of my friends did, too. and yes, the country is getting more tolerant, so people are just feeling more comfortable about making the tough decision to come out. i hope you are being supportive of your friend because telling you was probably one of the hardest things he's ever done.

good grief! no one "turns" gay...they just all don't come "out" right away. Lance Bass was always gay.... or, did you not read the interview. or you just don't care because you have a problem with gays?

right?
