I love that one!

Did you hear there was actually a girl in CA who got suspended for wearing one of those T-shirts to public school? It's sad but true!

Why can't straight people be proud, too
? I bet if a homosexual kid got kicked out of school for wearing a "Gay Pride" shirt the media would be all over it. But since the kid was straight, there was hardly a blurb in the news about it!

Interesting...you do realise that such a slogan can be easily stolen by gay bashers. I'm sure there is a benign form of white pride somewhere, I think it's a little more specific though, like Irish pride or Italian pride. However, one thing to note is that the expression of pride is usually reserved for the oppressed groups. When the mainstream tells a group they are bad or inferior, that group will empower itself by taking pride in what the mainstream considers to be bad about that group. When the mainstream, or majority exhibits pride, it is usually for intimidation. Think about Aryan pride during Hitler's reign, think about White pride as practised by racist skinheads and KKK members.

When I was in high school our guys Waterpolo team all got shirts that said "Shoot Straight" with a picture of a goal and a guy shooting a waterpolo ball into it. It was pretty funny...the principal tryed to ban it from school but didn't. Their argument was that it was soley relating to waterpolo and if gay people could wear shirts that showed gay pride, they could wear shirts that showed straight pride. It was classic.
