Just live your life to the best of your ability , you can't change theopinions of narrow minded bigots and homophobes. You can only do the best you can to be the best person you know how in the way you go about you life . Let your life be your testimony and let others show their ignorance by sharing their opinions with others .

I think gay people can make it clear by living our lives. By being honest, decent, fun and productive people. By being what EVERYone should be, regardless of gender or sexuality.
I don't know that we should have to constantly prove ourselves. We are human beings that have the same glories and faults as anyone else. We can't be perfect, and it seems that a portion of the straight community will suffer our presence as long as we excel in everything we do, and refrain from having a meaningful, loving relationship.
And, unfortuantely, there are those gay people out there who do want to try to convert their best friend, co-worker or acquaintance. Not very many, but enough for the rest of us to have to fight an uphill battle.

If we knew that, the world would be a happier place. :(
I'm pretty sure that the people who feel threatened by gay people have such deep issues (NO idea what exactly they are though) that prevent them from changing their mind. It's a "true believer syndrome" of sorts.
Logical thinking doesn't even enter into it. Maybe it would be a start to ask them how exactly they think this hilarious "teh geys are destroying marriage" thing would work in the first place...

To be honest, I think sometimes we are too quick to hope or wish some hot looking celebrity or sports figure was gay, and when we articulate that in front of straight people, they assume we wish everyone was gay. And then I know a lot of us tend to guess who might be gay....you know, that kid who works at the deli, or the guy who runs in the park every day. He's gay right? Wishful thinking. And that scares them.
Maybe if the day comes when it's just cool to say to somebody, "hey I'm gay, are you?" this can change. But for now, I think sometimes our behavior does scare straight people.
But then that is funny too. Because they'll call us pansy or sissy. Then what's to be afraid of?

Okay...as far as converting goes, if they already didn't have tendencies or were "in the closet" then you can't convert. It is like straight people trying to convert gay people...unless there is tendencies you can't convert. And the whole children thing is ridiculous...I was raised by straight parents and came out gay...my friend who was raised by lesbians is completely 100% straight...loves wussies and all that but not the pole. So yes...people just need to mind their own business and worry about their relationships.

Do people really believe that? Probably you're right, because I hear all the time how allowing gays to marry would threaten the institution of marriage. I'm sorry, but how is that?? I don't get it. My marriage is not defined by who else is allowed to marry. Get over it!!

I'm not sure if you can. The bottom line is that some people are closed minded, and they wont see things your way regardless of how clear you try to make it. So you just have to leave them as they are and make sure that you are happy and healthy. Some people will never outgrow there ignorance or childishness.

you can't make it clear...there is nothing stupider than someone who won't listen..and unfortunately there are lots of them out there.....I'm not interested in anyone's marriage and as far as converting or recruiting homosexuals...there are already so many out there I wouldn't know what to do with one more..That's another thing these guys don't get is that we're EVERYWHERE--but we all know that...they haven't figured it out...You're absolutely correct that secure people have no more interest in my homosexuality than I do in their heterosexuality.

well with this post you are bound to get hateful posts.
anyways, its not all about people feeling secure with themselves. WHY DONT YOU LOOK FURTHER such as America's children. That homosexual crap should not be pushed onto our kids if we dont want that happen. all we want is for you to keep your gay pride and what not to yourselves and then we'll leave you alone. we dont care you're gay,we dont care what guys you like, etc.....just shut up and get on with your life.
