I am doing a report in Health Class about self-injury. I am very away (as many people like to label me) that there is a connection between self-harm and being "emo." Any input to the connection?

For me it was baseball.

I grew up with four brothers, so there was absolutely NO CHANCE of me growing up FEMININE! (Actually I think I would have been a tomboy even in a family of very feminine girls.)

But baseball was my passion. I can not remember when I DID NOT play the game. And back in those days there were no organised teams for "girls". It just wasn't done. Although in my public school the ONLY baseball teams the school could field were the Junior and Senior GIRLS teams...there just were not enough boys that were good at the game in the same age group!

I especially liked the two years I spent catching the 60 mph plus zingers of a girl who was destined for much greater things.

So what was YOUR favourite sport when you were young?

Im not ignorant at all and those type of characteristics dont apply to me. Im just think it is crazy that black people cannot unite. Some of us remain so divided by skin color and physical characteristics? Its so sad considering our history, we have came a very long way but it seems like we have such a long way to go. What's with the light skin/dark skin thing? What is this the dividing factor amongst others?

For me it would have to be that overwhelming sense of CONNECTEDNESS when I first held both of my daughters in my arms after they were born.

People have said that this is only hard-wiring to ensure survival of the species...the same reason that ALL babies (no matter what species) are so appealing.

I can remember looking into my daughters wee little face and thinking about all those past mothers behind me into the mists of time, and I knew each one of them had felt this same overwhelming protectiveness for blood of my blood and flesh of my flesh.

So what is the one memory that you don't every want to forget?

what is true evil. It's an assignment for someone's class. She has to name something that is true evil, but if it was destroyed a lot of people would be outraged. The two evils I mentioned were gambling and alcohol. They both destroy people's lives (I've seen it first hand) but you can bet many would be outraged if they were destroyed. Boy did I get thumbs down on that one! One person said if something were truly evil, no one would be outraged if it were destroyed. That is totally wrong in my opinion. What would be your answer - What evil would bring outrage if it were destroyed? (Sorry for the long question)

I answered a question and used the word "redneck", and was "reported", yet on another question several people used the word "hillbilly" to describe a name.... How are the two words different? How did I violate anything, but "hillbilly" doesn't???

And before you get off your rockers, it's a figure of speech.... I don't use ethnic or racial slurs. I grew up in a town that I consider "redneck".... doesn't mean I have to like it. It just means I know of what I speak.

The impression I have of black french people are africans. My cousin says there are not many other races of black people (afro-caribbbean or afro-american) other than africans in France, because they already know the language and other races are lazy to learn a language. I would just like to know if that is the case. (My cousin is white and I am black and we often have discussions like this so don't worry if it sounds slightly racist. She would have to have a screw loose to be racist with the amount of black people in her family and friends lol)

If every liberal in the world acctually did what they think everyone else should do, would it solve all the worlds problems. And I mean just the liberals. As we all know, liberals say people shouldnt use oil and electicity in excess. But most of them do. What if all liberals acctually did walk to work, washed their clothes by hand, grow their own food, cut their own hair, didnt use electricity at all, etc.... Ill bet that alone would eliminate our need for forigen oil. All the polls say that about half of all Americans if not more, are liberals.

Kindergarderners being kicked out for playing cops and robbers on the play ground and using their fingers as a gun? Doodles on your papers about a teacher you didn't like and having to go to counseling? Having a teacher tell you to write what's on your mind and then get kicked out of school? Bringing something in for show and tell and having it called a weapon? (a deer antler) Do you think things have gone a tad crazy here?

I can prove them wrong, but I'm just getting so fed up with it that I just don't care anymore. I hate using the excuse, I'm gay and you don't have to no why, because it doesn't reinforce that it's not a choice, etc, but at this point, I'm so fed up I may. I only do this in real life, not online.

Is anyone else fed up with rejustifying yourself over and over and over?

i am wondering why YOU feel the need to change the way they think? are you bothered by gay people? i see where you compare them to drug addicts... are they really destroying their lives or are you making their lives harder by fighting them on this issue... i don't care one way or the other and i happen to believe just as you do that it is a learned behavior that seems normal to them... but at the end of the day... they sleep with who they want and i sleep with who i want... ( sometimes i wonder what i was thinking come morning though!!! LOL )

Thanks!

I just received an email from one of our "visitors" from last night. I do believe it was the head "organizer" himself. Here is a small excerpt...

Just a friendly note to thank you for allowing some very zany people to invade your section. Regarding your answer on being violated, I can assure you with the utmost confidence that NONE of the people who visited you reported ANY of the q&a. They are all respected people who have either lost accounts due to violations and / or are tired of the lax response from Yahoo regarding their OWN violations. Please do not consider ANY of them a threat to your account. They do not even give thumbs down when they are travelling.

I was able to assure him most sincerely that I had NEVER blamed any of them at all for this.

My point is that these are REALLY NICE people, and we should get into the habit of having Hillbillie nights, don't you think?

I don't know about everyone else, but have you ever noticed how actors who are not English are made to speak in "received pronunciated" a.ka. "R.P." English in historical-type dramas? If you aren't "English", is this offensive to you? I'm especially aiming this question to folks who are of G.B., but not English. Or better yet, even if the movie takes place in Ancient Rome/Greece this accent is used. What's the deal?
