Well i could be the only gay person in the world to say this... but no gays and lesbians should not be allowed to get "married". Its so damn annoying when so many gay and lesbian movements around the world fight to use a word that does not define what they do. The term marriage stands for the "union" or coming together of a male and a female, nothing else.. not a male and a male, a female and a female, or a human and anything else. I do agree that gays and lesbians should have the right to be recognised as being united in the same way. however the use of the word marriage in this unity should be forbidden. For me as a gay, yes i would like to be recognised the same as straight couples are when they get married. the idea of a certificate, certifying that you and your partner have come together, to be allowed to have some sort of ceremony, sharing the same last name, wearing a ring, feeling together, etc. gays and lesbians should be allowed to have this. but the ceremony needs to be diff

I have recently met a girl whom I really like.We are both in a relationship with men (I, a boyfriend, she, a husband). She divulged that she *used* to be lesbian. Do you think this was a hint for me, and if so, how do I persue her?
(BTW, my mate I and have an understanding towards my having relationships with females, so this poses no problem).

Its actually quite funny, reading alot of Q&A on here... someone may say.. "hey i think i am gay what should i do?".. reading through the answers i always find the majority of straight people saying... "being gay is not normal, or being gay isnt right, you need therapy"... do you even know what normal or what "right" is? i dont think anyone seems to know what normal is.... nothing is normal... normal is a term people use that is a comfort zone to them.... normal just describes the routine your used to... all the actions, feelings, surroundings that are involed in your routine... the line between normal and abnormal really is that once something completely changes... its abnormal... there are 6 billion types of normal in this world, because whats normal to one person may be abnormal to another.... its not hard to understand... but the use of terminology such as this is stupid.... many straight people cant handle gays in the same way that they cannot handle change..

I realize this is my problem only because you can't change the way people are but i'm so reluctant to confront this professor 'cause everytime I'm about to do it, I fail. I have to confront her though, 'cause she's the only one who will take my thesis so I can graduate. I despise unprofessional behavior and deliberately mean & inconsiderate remarks and people like that make me sick. I was just about to go and ask her about my thesis but I couldn't enter her room. How do i deal with this problem of mine and put my emotions aside. I am always professional and never hurt anyoneone's feelings but I realize I also have to deal super professionally with the people who are exactly my opposite.
What do I say to myself so I am well prepared when the time comes...

Thanks.

ps) please stop asking me why i put my questions under the gay & lesbian section. i just seem to feel like they're one of the most sensitive & good people I know so I always ask for their opinion.

Peace.

All the so called 'free' sites are free to post your ads but you have to pay to contact members. I've tried myspace.com too but i'm having trouble locating people in my area (oxfordshire).

I am married, but i am looking to explore my bi curious side as i have never been with a woman and i really want to try before we extend our family. Is the fact that i'm married putting women off as i was hoping to meet someone who is game for anything??? fmf?

Why are there so many East Indians (people from India) (not Native Americans) on this Yahoo Ask It thing? Are they in the US or India? Further, why do they seem to excell at computer programming? Further does it have something to do with the caste system in India? Are the Brahmans computer geniuses? Just curious.

Okay so there is this checkout girl at the grocery store lol anyway shes really sweet and cute. My facial experssions are really clear I am sure I've accidently made eyes at her lol. we usually chat while I am in the check out line and now she smiles and gives a small wave or a hello with the eyes right when I get in the store. Anyway we were talking today and discovered we go to the same university.
The thing is... She doesn't make my "gaydar" go like off the charts or anything like I can't really tell one way or the other. Any suggestions. I wear my pride braclets n stuff in an attempt to suttley let her know I am gay. How can I tell if she is?

I'm tired of trying to explain ourselves to straight men and women. The don't understand us, and they never will be able to. The male + female relationship is so thoroughly ingrained into their brains that they simply cannot comprehend a male + male relationship. It simply doesn't compute in their brains. Whenever they see a male + male relationship, they try to fit it into a male + female relationship because that's all they understand. That's why they're always trying to look for a dominant/active partner and a submissive/passive partner. They're always looking for the 'woman' in the male-male couple because a relationship between two males is beyond their scope.

I remember when some stright people I know watched Brokeback Mountain, they argued which one of the men were the 'woman' in the relationship. What they didn't realize was that there was no woman in the relationship! It's a relationship between two men!

( Rant over. )

okay well it doesn't really have to do with skin color, but more of personality and whether or not theyre nice, is a factor in whether i like a guy or not. but i've found that i like the foriegn guys, from s. america, the carribean, asia etc.

but heres the thing, if you ask me to describe my dream guy he'd probably white. whys this. oh god, this question sounds so stupid.

sorry it wasn't intentional to make a stupid question, i was going somewhere at first, but now i've lost my point.

i have one last thing to add, i'm s. italian. :-/

So im sitting in class oneday and a black friend made a comment about my race. So i made one back at him. He seemed more offended then I did. So I ask him "whats the problem" He answers me "you can't say that my people are oppressed."
I then explained to him that my people (irish catholic) have suffered more than the africans. After all we have been persecuted for 600 years as opposed to there 250. Also, our persecution continues today. So tell me your thoughts on this subject. And if whether or not you think that people can't say things about black people.
