the bible is written in virtually every language. it's rather easy to follow, even with the somewhat older style of grammar used. so why are there so many books on how to read the bible? shouldn't it be up to the individual reader to decide whether or not it makes sense? shouldn't god's word have been obvious to every person, without need of an interpreter or someone to explain what is really meant by each passage?

i truly adore women and the feminine mystique. i am not gay and the masculine form does not attract me. i rely on clued in genetic women to lead me down the feminine path. is this really thqt wrong? ideally i require helpful responses from the transgender world and sympathetic genetic gals.

We have weekly prayer group meetings, and we are currently using this book called 'When Heaven Invades Earth- A practical Guide to a life of Miracels- Jack Taylor & Randy Clark'. Apparently all stories written in this book are based on true events.

-Resurrection in Africa-

Pastor Surprise is an apostolic leader working with Rolland and Heidi Baker of Iris Ministries in Mozambique. Buring an evangelistic crusade in which he was preaching, a 9 year old girl died, which threatened to end the series of meetings. The entire village was stricken with grief.

The next day Pastor Surprise went to visit the family, and the child's body was still in the hut where where she had died the night before. As he was praying for the family, he happened to be holding the little girl's hand. He was not praying for her to rise from the dead, yet after a few minutes the girl squeezed his hand. She was raised 12 hours after her death because someone was full of the Holy Spirit.

Would you support a born-again Christian, who while believing homosexuals to be sinful, and abortion to be wrong, they supported these rights, based on their interpretation of the constitution?

If the race were between the pro-life, anti-gay atheist and the pro-choice, pro-gay born again, who would you vote for?

Would you vote for a president who refused to address these "social issues" at all?...one who, wanted to focus more on the security of our country, illegal immigration, paying down the national debt, etc...

If a you agreed with a presidential candidate on every issue except for the social issue of abortion and gay rights, would you vote for him...or, do these social issues trump all other issues in your mind?

What is more important to you the security and well being of the country, or whether two men are allowed to marry?

I was told by one of my college professors (in American history) that the term "African-American" is a generally acceptable term.

However, in my opinion, it implies that someone immigrated to the U.S. from Africa. The term is applied to a great deal of individuals who were born here and never came from Africa (had African descent) or were born here and were of Jamacian, West Indian descent.

I'm not racist or anything. My question is why do we apply the African-American term to those who have African descent but weren't born in Africa. It would be like applying a European-American tag to most people in the U.S. with European roots.

Any thoughts or comments about this?

According to the bible, that's how he is and I just hope the bible is wrong in that sense.

Did you read the last few verses of "Job"?
I did. Some of Job's friends were there and said some things and then God was severly persercuting them and "talking down to them" like that did something bad all because they weren't speaking the total truth to Job about whatever it was.

Would God played by Morgan Freeman from "Bruce Almighty" act like that over something so small? I think not.

Because a lot of people are saying that you can't condemn a movie w/o watching it... But its based on a book. So, Have you read the books?

FYI: I have read all three books, AND I am a pretty good Christian. I don't need lecturing about how bad it is, I know. But to be honest, the first book isn't really that bad. I'll assume that the first movie is pretty good and fun, so that kids will like it and they will go to see the second and third movie, which are very bad.

So, have you read it or even heard of the book?

...was one of the best speeches on "American Religious Freedom" given in the last 100 years?

His speech hardly touched on any Mormon Doctrine and I think rightly so because as Mitt pointed out – there should be no religious test for public office. I mean if you what to hear about Mormon beliefs just stop those young men and women on bikes or go to www.mormon.org or www.lds.org

Anyway what did you think about his speech from a religious freedom angle?

Hebrews 13:1 - "Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."

Have you ever had an encounter with someone, maybe someone who asked you for money or some other favor, and later felt it was an angel who had visited you?

Wednesdays are my slow days at work. I have only two things to do and 8 hours to do it. Therefore, when I am done I am bored. Also, I sometimes get bored doing one of the things I have to do. Another thing, my desk is not located next to my coworkers so I do not interact with them. This contributes to my boredom.

Idol gods. A structure or object, that is used by people,
and seen as a deity, or image of high value. Like the
golden calf, that is talked about, in the Bible. Or some
even use statues, and trees. And animals, too. If you
can believe that one. I wonder if anyone has ever like
tried to convert you to do such a horrific thing. Have they ?
If so, then please give us your story. We would love to
hear this one. And if you have a good one, then you will
win best answer. This is the question. Are Atheists,
offended by those who serve "idol gods" ? ~~~

Okay, here is the situation.

A while a go I noticed a user on Y!A had consistently 8 thumbs up on all of his answers, and 9 thumbs down appearing on all other answers. He has a "best answer" percentage rating in the mid 70% range - WAY out of the normal distribution.

SIMILAR TO this answer here that may or may not have been posted by a similar user:

So, I outted that person and since then ...

ALL OF MY answers have been getting 9 thumbs up and 9 thumbs down on all of the other answer. There have been accusations that I was 'cheating' etc.

Fortunaltly, my public back log of answers (both good and bad) show a normal distribution, so my reputation is safe. I AM sorry about any curretn open questions that are suffering because of these tactics

So, here's the question ... spititually speaking, what does your faith teach you about the nature of honor and slander?
