If not, where would you want to be married, or where were you married?

My brother and sister were married on the beach, if the tide was any higher we would be in the water...

It was great, but I prefer a nice indoor church wedding...as long as it doesn't go slow...

I keep hearing the US is a Christian Nation crap over and over, so how do you explain Article11 in the Trety of Tripoli? It states:

"As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries."

It was signed by President and Founding Father John Adams, and unaniomusly passed by the Senate. I think that says it all.

We share over 98% of the same genetic material with the modern chimpanzee. That's not to say we are related to a chimp, but rather we are related to the same evolutionary ancestor. Remember we're talking about millions of years here.

Do any of you unsaved people have a message you'd like to send to your loved ones in Heaven? I'll relay them when I get there, and only charge $5.00 per message :)

Am I the nicest person you've ever met, or what?

If you believe in Christianity then god is your father, and Jesus is your savior. So i'm asking you to answer these questions for me:

1. Who is Mary Magalin. Wasn't she Jesus's mother? Or did they just have the same first name.
2. When the virgin Mary seen the angel, how do we know she wasn't just dilusional?
3. I was told no one seen Jesus rise from the dead. Then how do we know? What if someone stole his dead body by finding a way in?
4. If god is so wonderful, why is he asking so much for us. "Go to church every sunday." What if we just can't possibly do that?
5. Pray every night. What if we forget?
6. Everyone sins in their life just once, and a simple ASKING for forgiveness makes it all go away?

Preach to me.
I love to learn.

A star shines because nuclear fusion in its core releases energy which traverses the star's interior and then radiates into outer space. Even Wikipedia knows that.

But for some reason the beauty of a starry night seems to be proof of your particular god.

So, two questions, very simple ones this time. Shouldn't be hard to answer such simple questions:
1. How are stars proof of any god?
2. Assuming stars are proof of any god: why would it proof your particular god more than any other god?

When you get on Y/A and post or answer questions, please do so with Revelation 21: 8 and 22: 14&15 in mind. I don't mind you defending your faith but these words are not from me, but from the Apostle John to you! Please; take them to heart.

This is a followup to my last question, based one one of the answers that was given. I cited the Salve Regina and asked why we need Mary's mercy. One answer said, in part:

"The fear of God's severe judgment, the fear of Jesus as a mighty figure sitting at God's right hand, has led people to flee (figuratively) to Mary as one who is all mercy and has nothing of judgment within her. It's just like a child running to his mother when he fears his father might whip him."

The thing is, I can't accept this notion, and I cannot believe that the Catholic Church would endorse it. Jesus' incarnation was an act of mercy, and Mary as the Mother of God points us to that mercy and kindness. Mary wants us to see Jesus in those terms; and she is, I think, saddened by the idea that some would come to her because they are afraid to go to her Son directly.

What say you?

Everyone has there own religion, whos to say theres is the right one, whos to say christianity is the real religion, whos to say muslims religion isn't real. Whos to say buddah Isn't real. Religion is mostly based on the area in which you grew up, people from the middle east study islam, and are mostly muslim. What makes my religion the right one. In my opinion religion is nothing but a buisness. Back in the acient days were "Gods inturpreters" (Myan Leaders) would receive offerings, And in middle ages were you could get into heaven with a fee. And now you can't sit threw a single serman without being pressured to give at least 10%. If there was a god, why would he require that you give away part of your economical status, Why wouldn't you belief be enough. I think religion was man made, find someone that people can turn to, but whats love with out hate, good w/o evil, so they made a satonic figure"The devil" In Hopes that this Would Spark more believers. Im confused any tips, insight?

Even here on these boards there are many wonderful intelligent Christains who are not threatened by science, or by who sleeps with whom. This question is for you.

Are you tired of how the fundies makes us all look? The world sees 'The Creation Museum' and we are preceived as a nation of morons. I resent that a lot.

I believe that most of this country is made up of free thinking people who do not care if you love God or Zeus.

We very much believe the separation of church and state.

We have got to make a difference this coming election. If we stand idle by we could get Pat Robertson in the White House.

Do you think that if we campaign to get the fundies out our governent we could make a difference.

What is religion exactly? With all the questions regarding religion, i'm starting to think that no religion in this world, is correct. Someone in the world probably knew what happened, but they're long gone now. So I don't think I believe in anything. Anything at all. Or better yet, I believe in everything. There is absolutely NO proof of any religion. If you think there is, tell me about it. Any religion. I'd like to know.

One of the biggest problems I have with Christianity or any of the other mainstream religions is that claim that their god is a loving, merciful, benevolent being who only wants what is best for us, his children. If they claimed that their god was a vindictive, jealous, egocentrical, murderous bastard I would be more willing to believe them. I have a great deal of trouble reconciling the rosy picture of god with the deeds and words of this god that are recorded in their book. If the book is the truth, and believers are just trying to gloss over the reality of god, would anyone else agree that they should cut out the sugar coating and just tell the truth. It would probably get them more converts than trying to reconcile all the inconsistencies.

Adam and Eve? Or the dinosaurs?

You see, when god CREATED the earth, he created Adam and Eve, but then again, the dinosaurs were "supossedly" here before any human creature.
How is this possible.
