Yes and no and maybe. Strong atheists blindly believe God definitely doesn't exist. Christians and Muslims would say this is very negative thinking because God is so loving and compassionate and he created Heaven and etc. If you believe in such a wonderful being then it's very positive (albeit blind) thinking and saying He definitely doesn't exist is quite negative.

However these religions also say that billions of people are going to suffer in Hell for eternity. This seems very negative. Atheists do not hold this belief and so we can say with respect to this tenet atheists are a lot more positive than Christians and Muslims.

Atheists aren't sure about what happens at the time of death or they believe that there will be nothing after death. It is natural to be very frightened at death and this is a form of negative thinking. The Christian or Muslim bypasses these feelings by blindly believing they are safe. This is a lot more positive than atheists.

When the atheist is struggling with decades of suffering due to old age the christian/muslim/hindu stupidly believes they will go to heaven forever. As such they find joy and happiness even when there whole life is in ruins.

I can only speak for myself. I didn't intend to disbelieve. Disbelief hit me on the head, due to several years of Bible classes, a while back. But I have made the best of the situation -- because I'm a possitive thinker.

Nothing to negative about my thinking, could be worse and I'd think I will go to hell instead of becoming worm food. Nah, honestly I don't think negative, and I feel most humanists show more concern about our planet than some people. What's negative about that? I don't even think negatively about religious people, unless they shuff the bible in my face.

Negative thinker is a meaningly phrase. You either think or you're dead.

I am a skeptic, and proud of it. That is not the same as a negative thinker.

I think you are confusing skepticism for pessimism.

probably god is important to you, and it seems like a person who doesn't believe in god is a negative person. i can only point out that it doesn't seem that way to me. i believe in quite a few things, it's just that gods aren't on the list.

no, we are level headed individuals who don't blindly follow a faith because other people are doing it. we believe in what is real, not an almighty being that governs everything. the chance of there being a god is 99.999999999999999% (to infinity)
