I know all Gods are one, but I am leaning more toward a spiritual path, and I am feeling like I am rejecting God by doing so. Tho it is a wonderful religion, my old religion harps on worshipping Jesus, and I do, but ... I guess I am just confused. I respect all religions, and I am doubting some parts of the Bible. I am so sorry to say that. Should I renew my faith or follow the path I have been travelling?

I'm not Christian (shocks you all from my question, huh? :P) and in the circles I hang out with, fundamentalist is nearly a curse word, and "bible thumper" is liable to turn someone pale, or green, or some combination thereof.

Namely, it's the Bible thumpers, the people who want to quote the Bible at every turn thinking, for some unknown reason, that non Christians care what that book says, the ones who are trying to convert everyone, the ones who diss all non Christians... namely, it's these people who cause non Christians to loathe Christianity... often with a firey passion.

And fundamentalists are the blind, backwards lot who hold that the Bible is completely perfect as it is, with no flaw or inconsistancy... that last bit proves the whole blind thing, since the Bible is full of holes. And typically jump down anyone's throat who even whispers to the contrary.

So, my question again... are thse people aware of the hatred they inspire of their own faith?

For every finger you point, four point back at you.
We only give positive affirmation, never the thumbs down.

say yes more.

the thumb is the most powerful finger in the modern age, we text on the phone, change the chanel, hitch a ride (giving a lift to a hiker is an act of genuine kindness, well, unless you intend to murder them) ... but a thumb can take you anywhere.

Karma comes back on those who report people for their honest opinions that conflict threefold. If you recieve a thumbs down, give three polite, funny and intelligent statements the "thumbs up" yourself...spread love.

HOWEVER, an offensive statement reported brings luck and health to you. But only if it offends another other than yourself, stick up for minorities, look after your neighbour ant they will do the same for you.

and your fortune cookie for the day:

If this is allowed on TV, are there really only a few Extremists?

I am trying to put two and two together. If this occurred in another country, the public outcry would be a thing to behold. Is it therefore okay to teach little little children to hate?

Why do they feel the need to invade our lives and our personal freedoms to attempt to soothe thier OWN souls. Why do they feel the need to surround us with thier "beliefs", whethere its complainging about the ten commandments on a courthouse or putting mandated prayer back in school? Why does there seem to be no middle ground? And how to those Christians justify wanting a theocracy to themselves? Isn't that like treason or something. Maybe it should be....

OK I am an Atheist (just to get it straight). I heard from an answer on here that Jesus had told everyone about God, and whoever didn't believe in God would to Hell. So if you don't believe in God, how can you believe in Hell? Just a question, I'm not trying to be rude.

When a friend asks a group of guys to help him move, would it be acceptable to offer about $40 each to hire professional movers to help him out instead of having everyone waste away hours of physical labor, when they could just pay someone else?

I admit I am lazy ... would it be rude for me to offer money instead?

First of all, I feel I must point out that I'm an atheist. I must point this out because it seems whenever I ask a question from someone else's point of view a lot of people assume it's my point of view.

Ok then...

Now, if you truly believe in god, that's a really big deal. That's the kind of thing I don't think I would be half-@ssed about. If I believed that god was the reason for everything, then god would have to be the focal point of my life. My entire existence would have to revolve around my god.

So I guess what I'm trying to ask is...

How can you be moderate in your religion? Isn't it an all-or-nothing affair?

I am not aging gracefully. Well maybe that is the wrong term. I am not happy about aging. I got my first Sir two weeks before my birthday from a 18 y/o and that was depressing. I found my first gray hair today in the bathroom mirror at work. I know men usually are not upset about theses things but I am. I am only 27 for GOD's sake. I feel 30 knocking at my door. Intellectually I know that 30 is not old 50 is not even old now a days but I am feeling so old. How did you deal with getting older.

Why would Linus, Anacletus, and Clement becomes popes over John?

i think we can understand why Peter would be considered the first "pope" or leader of the church after christ since Peter is always mentioned first in the lists of the Twelve. He is also frequently mentioned in the Gospels as forming with James the Elder and John a special group within the Twelve Apostles, present at incidents to which the others were not party, such as at the Transfiguration of Jesus.

But when peter was martyered in A.D. 64 or A.D. 67. why would linus have taken his place since John who was reponsible for the book of revelations, the Gospel of John was alive untill around the year 101 a.d.. The "Son of thunder" or John had a prominent position in the Apostolic body.

Why would Linus, Anacletus, and Clement becomes popes While John was still alive and receiving revelation for the church?

I notice this a lot. It's like they never ever stop arguing even though their statements are illogical. When I know I'm wrong I shut up. But when they know they are wrong they keep going. It dosen't make any sense.

Your child goes to school 8 hours a day. If that. Why is it that the other 16 hours a day can't go to your religion and that 8 hours people are free from religios persecution. Wanting "mandated" prayer is exactly that. It's making everyone who isn't Christian feel uncomfortable and alienated. Why isn't 16 hours a day and 40 on the weekends enough for prayer? Why can't "some" Christians comprimise? Or is it thier way or no way at all?
