lets say there is this girl who really likes you a lot but she has never directly told you that. if she sent you a myspace message asking you to get together sometime and you replied with a yes and your phone number to call, if she called you, would'nt that be a sign telling youthat she likes you? if you liked her back how long would it take you to return the call?

I've got a nice, black cotton cloak with a big hood and drooping sleeves. I'm 6ft 5in and I weigh about 220lbs. I need some costume ideas...creative costume ideas. I don't really want to be a wizard/warlock/sorcerer or any other version of that(unless you've got a creative variation). What could I be with this cloak? Thanks.

Is it that they secretly want people to suffer for doing things they think are immoral? Does medical technology threaten to eliminate the fundie argument that disease is a "judgment" from god? Why would anyone want others to suffer by standing in the way of medical progress just to satiate a twisted religious ego/belief?

My husband believes he will die by the age of 33. It terrifies me that he really could be sensing his own death. He is 28 now.

We have a friend who died of cancer a few years ago, and he knew that he would die by age 26. Do you beleive some people have this ability.

My sister is living with a 'feeder.' She is a fat bastard with an **** for a shelf and many many health problems. At least 20 stone, this woman wants to lose weight but HE won't let her. Is it a guaranteed way to stop the attentions of anoher man or what? Is THIS a way of making sure my sister NEVER goes anywhere else because no-one else would want her?

I have been told by many on these pages that the RCC does not endorse praying to Mary, that she is not a God to Catholics, and that she is not a mediator between us and God (the Bible says there is only one mediator). But I just attended a Catholic funeral and the following "prayer" was handed to all attendees to quietly mediate upon.

'Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone who fled to Thy protection, implored Thy help, or sought Thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto Thee, O Virgin of virgins, My Mother! to Thee I come; before Thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. Oh Mother of the Word incarnate! despise not my petitions, but, in Thy mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.

No changes were made by me as far as grammar, punctuation, or capital letters. Please tell me how it is possible to construe such a 'prayer' as anything but? There is no mention of appealing to Christ through Mary, that must be implied.

While Jesus was dying he said to the repentant sinner:

"And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." (Luke 23:43)

Look up some bibles and the footnote for Paradise will say something like: "In the Greek translation of the Old Testament, this word (Paradise) is used for the Garden of Eden."

If Luke uses a word that is referring to a LITERAL garden like paradise, similar to the Garden of Eden, then why have people twisted scriptures like this to mean Heaven or some "happy waiting place"?

Why have people added their own translation to a perfectly clear statement in Greek?

Why have people added their own ideas and speculations that are not found in the bible?

Creationists and Intelligent Designers think they should be allowed to present non-scientific ideas with no evidence to support them as equal alternatives in science class to the scientific Theory of Evolution.

So, do they also think that Evolution should be presented as an equal alternative to religious dogma?

I mean if we want to be fair and allow religion into a public classroom, where it has no place at all, then shouldn't the churches and religions that invade the science classroom make room for Science in their places of worship?

It's only fair...and religions want to be good, moral, fair and just right?

i have 2 children. a daughter who is 3 1/2 and a son who is 2. my mother-in-law (MIL) has a daughter who is 10 months older than mine. her and her mother are constantly buying clothes for them as if they were twins. THEY AREN'T! for halloween, i thought about dressing my daughter up as a mouse and making my son a piece of cheese. when my daughter told my "MIL" my idea for their costumes, she told me that she would dress her daughter up as a cat. even though her daughter was a cat last year for halloween. my kids can even have a halloween to where someone will be dressing the same. so i guess my question is...what ideas do you have that i could dress them up as together....such as a mouse and piece of cheese? or peanut butter and jelly. but i also need ideas of how to put it together.

my answer is yes, christianity doesn’t endorse spiritual philosophy of hinduism so why should they allow yoga in their churches?

hinduism has never tried to force its way into any person or society; people follow it by their own choice and discovery of its amazing spiritual and enlightening knowledge. but the real perpetrators are the buddhists, who until 1893 had nothing to do with yoga all of a sudden started calling yoga a buddhist practice (ofcourse after learning from the hindus when technically they shouldn't practice it) & found yoga to be a sure-fire tool to spread buddhism. that bloody rodney yee is a perfect example.

i'm a hindu btw.

on the subject of praying, i once heard that god always answers all our prayers, just sometimes his answer is no. so my question is this. what's the point in praying? if god does exists, he (or she) is going to do what he wants anyway. does praying really make a difference? i believe you'd have the same luck getting your prayers answered from a rock. sometimes the rock says no, too.

One time, I prayed and prayed, nonstop for years for God to talk to me. Then, a friend of mine, I will call him Mister Natural, stopped by my house, an hour later, poof! , there was God, but only for a minute, because then His face melted into the carpet.
How about you?

In heaven there will be no marriage or birth. I was wondering about that because, in the garden of eden God created all things perfect as he wanted it to be. He created Adam and Eve and married them. He said it was not good for man to be alone, and it was good. So why would that change? Also he told them to be fruitful and multiply so why would God change that? Having children is one of the best things about this world and all good things come from God, so why would it not exist then? Just wanted some thoughts from you guys.

Marian devotion is important to the Catholic, Anglican (particularly the High Church branch), and Orthodox traditions; but most Protestants reject it as improper.

Protestants argue that Marian devotion is akin to worship, but we are to worship God (the Holy Trinity) alone, and not Mary or the Saints. Catholics and Orthodox note that this is not worship but merely veneration; however, Protestants do not understand that argument. Protestants are of the opinion that Marian devotion, even if not worship, distracts from attention on God, and devotion to Mary is likely to give rise to tendencies to equate Mary with God. Catholics however would argue that is the wish of Jesus that we should venerate Mary because according to the New Testament she magnifies the Lord, and magnification of her magnifies God. Protestants also feel that many of the Catholic and Orthodox traditions about Mary are not found in the Bible, and therefore should be rejected. Catholics argue that Marian doctrine is implicit in the Bible.

The early reformers however, believed that Mary should be held in highest reverence, and even advocated the use of the Ave Maria through “and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus” as a sign of reverence for and devotion to the Virgin.

Moreover both Luther and Calvin believed the doctrine, now controversial among Protestants, of Mary's perpetual virginity. This belief is even attested to in the Augsburg Confession, one of the foundations of Lutheranism.

Guys - I'm scared. The theory of evolution has taken over the scientific community. Geneticists, archeologists, paleontologists, geologists, biologists, even theologians are widely accepting macro-evolution science and teaching it in our schools...

What should we do? How can we get back to Genesis when evolution has infiltrated so deeply? Is the end of the world near?
