Ezekiel 20:25-26 (God speaking about the Israelites) "Moresoever, I gave them laws that were not good and rules by which they could not live. When they set aside every first issue of the womb, I defiled them by their very gifts - that I might render them desolate, that they might know that I am the Lord." King James Version. From the book "God: A Biography", pg. 331: "Laws that were NOT good? Rules by which they could NOT live? Is this how he demontrates that 'I am the Lord'? What the Lord alludes to in the phrases 'the first issue of the womb' and 'I defiled them by their very gifts' is child sacrifice." Jerusalem Bible rendering: "I even gave them laws that were not good and observances by which they could never live, and I polluted them with their own offerings, making them sacrifce all their first-born, which was to punish them, so that they would learn that I am Yahweh."

Considering India IS IT true that many people break some laws in their life time perhaps which are small or of less severe nature ; for example: Traffic laws , Trespass, Bribery , Cyber laws, Disrespect of national anthem or flag, Cheating ,Copying in exams, Small theft, Defamation ,Electricity theft, Teasing or Molesting females,Child labour & Child marriage in rural places ........
knowingly or negligently or because of unawareness or circumstances and remain unnoticed ,uncomplained & unharmed????
IF yes; what do u think ; how many people of that kind are there in India???
IF yes; what are reasons behind it??

I'm sort of pale and I don't have very dark hair. I think my face looks somewhat Native American, but how can I be more in touch with it? if that makes sense.

Whether it's obsession with the topic or self hatred, it's a little much, isn't it?

I wonder if maybe just not having gay sex might be the solution.

Just a thought though. What say you?

I've already ordered my school textbook on online, but it hasn't been arrived, yet.

But, I need it to do homework..
I am trying to go to Barns&nobles bookstore where is located near LA on these weekends..

There are some chairs and desks at the bookstore..
is it okay to use the textbook and study for 2-3 hrs without buying? Does employee complain it if I do it?

Here's my nomination:

Pet camel kills Australian woman while apparently trying to have sex.

BRISBANE, Australia (AP) - An Australian woman was killed by a pet camel given to her as a 60th birthday present after the animal apparently tried to have sex, police said Sunday.

The woman, whose name was not released, was killed Saturday at her family's sheep and cattle ranch near Mitchell, 600 kilometres west of the Queensland state capital Brisbane, state police Detective Senior Constable Craig Gregory said.

The 10-month-old male camel - weighing about 150 kilograms - knocked the woman to the ground, lay on top of her, then exhibited what police suspect was mating behaviour, Gregory said.

I'm at a loss as to where to post this question, so I thought that R & S was as good a place as any, as some of the content deals with death and the afterlife.

What of the time when Moses came down from the mountain with the 10 commandments. He found his people worshiping a golden calf. What then did god do? He separated those who would still believe in him then ordered them to kill the calf worshipers.

Now, what is one of the 10 commandments that would relate to this ordeal? Thou shall not kill maybe? Hmm...

I don't think so. :)Im kinda excited about discovering this because, I just started college this week and my major is psychology. Something I really, really wanted to know was, WHY racists think the way they do. While this bit of information I came across in my textbook doesn't really justify or explain that (yet), it does give some insight into their way of thinking.Basically, their belief to them is "common sense", ex. "Whites are human, Blacks are apes" or "Whites are superior to all races, it is the pure race".If you notice, these particular people claim to be smarter but what they don't realize is, their way of thinking is not "correct". Its not common sense to suggest that whites are the superior race. It all falls into pseudopsychology; or UNFOUNDED psychological beliefs. The belief that one race is superior can be held even if there is NO EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT IT. I have yet to see someone test and show verifiable evidence of their races' superiority. What do you think about this?

I know that this is a stereotype, but most stereotypes are based (though sometimes very loosely) on fact. I know that presently, it has a lot to do with the whole Isreali - Palestinian state thing. But, has it always been this way? I know that the feeling isn't unanimous, but it's obviously strong enough to get noticed. Is it a religious thing? Historical? Something completely different? Honest question.

Please, no one use this as an opportunity to insult anyone

I didn't know how to describe us, I was going to say 'Fellow Atheists' but that isn't necessarily true. Or 'Fellow Realists', but that's sketchy too. So I went with Science Believers. I suppose 'People Who Don't Believe in Fairy Tales' could have worked, but let me get to my point:

Seeing as certain 'folk' can't seem to understand simple concepts like the scientific method or rational discourse, how can we expect these very special people to comprehend things like evolutionary biology or cosmology?

And I'm just talking about a layman's understanding.
Can someone who thinks the world is only 6000 years old and honestly believes it, no matter what the evidence, ever going to understand how complex the cosmos actually is?

And why do people get mad at Mormons for believing that God has a body. One of the main points of the New Testament is that Jesus resurrected, and thus has a body.

"To talk of immaterial existences, is to talk of nothings. To say that the human soul, angels God are immaterial is to say, they are nothings, or that there is no God, no angels, no soul...I can never join Calvin in addressing his God. He was indeed an atheist, which I can never be ; or rather his religion was daemonism. If ever man worshiped a false God, he did."

is it possible to follow the teachings of Jesus, yet believe that God saves ALL? i just don't think a loving God would create someone and then send it to suffer for all eternity. there are some major things i disagree with about today's Christianity, but being a Christian still appeals to me a little. is this possible?

1. Christians believe that God has 3 parts to him or something
1. is God, 2 Christians believe Prophet Jesus (ra) is the son of God, and 3. The Holy Ghost.

Well, water has 3 parts right?

water as a liquid
Water as ice
Water as steam/gas

But you can change it back to water due to heat/cold

So, how does the Christian belief make sense?

IDK you tell me?

Guess wat Christians are wrong.

I want to know what your plan toward COMPLETE animal liberation is? Is it truly possible to be free of any animal by-product in the consumer society we live in?

Must you live on Walden Pond to escape the cruelty we call the typical cycle of life?

Can someone tell me more about places where people have had visions with the Virgin Mary? Meaning, what happens to the people who see them, the area where it happens, etc. Ive heard of the place smelling fragrant like flowers after a sighting, among other things. Thanks :-)
