What of the time when Moses came down from the mountain with the 10 commandments. He found his people worshiping a golden calf. What then did god do? He separated those who would still believe in him then ordered them to kill the calf worshipers.
Now, what is one of the 10 commandments that would relate to this ordeal? Thou shall not kill maybe? Hmm...

"tweetybird37406" Hmm I suppose only the believers "know" anything about understanding "god". What of the scholars who study religion who don't believe, who would know volumes more than anyone on this board?

Goodness sake, son, do some research!
Your argument might have some weight with some Christians who get their religious instruction from a Sunday afternoon religious show, but some of us actually read.
Thou Shall Not Murder. It's not "Kill". That's a modern mistranslation. The Jewish people killed people all the time, while still following the Ten Commandments.
Please don't just pass on things you hear as if they are reasonable arguments. Do some research first (at least if you don't want people to wonder about your reasoning ability and call you on it).
I'm not a Christian. Not even religious.

Yes God ordered those who worshiped the calf and were involved in making it killed. What you have to realize is that God is the ruler and judge of this world. If a judge in present times sentences a man to death under the law is the judge guilt of murder? Is the man who actually performs the execution guilty of murder? The answer is no.
In this case God is the judge. He passed down judgment. The judgment was death. The men who killed the idol worshipers were the executioners. They did what the judge commanded. God could just have easily struck them dead and it would still have been the same result and just as fair. God set the law and can punish those who break it.

Thou shalt not kill, you shall not kill. The boss did not say "We shall not kill." Another of the commandments was that they should have no other god before him and imagine his disdain when he found them worshiping the image of a beast of all things.

You should read the entire Bible instead of bits and pieces to try to "prove a point". and you are wrong.....those people were not killed...they were set aside. and if the Bible were full of contradictions and a bunch of bull then why should you care so much?? why make such a big deal? God is not how you think he is....in fact you don't know him at all, and what you have described is NOT God.. God is a merciful and loving God. May God Bless you, and open your eyes to the truth. :)

Its nothing but contradictions. It was written by ignorant people, sheep herders. What does a sheep herder 2000 years ago know about a ufo as in the burning bush? Fundamentalist garbage that obstructs a path to spiritual awakening and awareness. Too bad if you believe that fundamentalist stuff your a brainwashed idiot and probably starting or involved in a war and killing people somewhere.

With all due respect, and as many other posts i am sure will show, Moses did not not disoobey any of the commandments there, as "Thou shall not kill" (Ex. 20:13) refers to murder, as the word (raÌtsach) means, and the laws of Moses further reveal.
There are however, a very small percentage of problematic texts in the Bible, for which i would recommend you research at http://www.christian-thinktank.com/
As for why Moses, whose leadership was one of selfless service to rebellious Israel, had the community slay 3,000 of the idolaters (which he did despite some who refuse to see it: Ex. 32:26-28), this was not simply because they disagreed, but because such influence was not simply theological but immoral, and such men would destroy the entire community, as further history shows (Num. 16, etc.).
Idolatry is the principal sin behind all other sins. People who exalt the Pope above the Bible slew their thousands upon thousands, while atheists like Stalin, Pol Pot and Mao worshiped themselves, and operated out the atheistic, objectively baseless morality in murdering their millions, doing what was "reasonable" to them.
Meanwhile no one was ever killed by anyone seeking to defend or expand the Christian faith, if acting consistent with Biblical Christianity, which very clearly disallows such http://peacebyjesus.witnesstoday.org/jes... - as they preach the truth in love, of Christ who gave Himself for our sins and rose again!
(Jer 29:13) "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."
Seeking prepares the heart for receiving.

wrong.
it says:
Exodus 20:13 “You must not murder."
There is a difference between execution and killing.
Try again.
From Strong's;
he word translated "kill' is really not representative of the original language word.
ratsach rä·tsakh' slayer, murderer, kill, murder, slain, manslayer, killing, slayer, slayeth, death
So, the verse you inappropriately qualify as kill, (which you incorrectly assumed was any killing,) truthfully refers to Murder.
Putting someone to death for breaking the law, is not murder.
Please take some time researching your facts before you shoot off your mouth next time.
You make yourself exposed as uninformed and biased.
It does say that a person should not lie also. Yet, you violated this rule clearly when you deliberately misrepresented the easily found truth in the Bible.

I am not sure where you got that information, but the calf worshippers were not killed. They were "set aside" for having broken the Lord's covenant with Him. Their names were "blotted out of his book". It never mentions anything about killing them...
