And why do people get mad at Mormons for believing that God has a body. One of the main points of the New Testament is that Jesus resurrected, and thus has a body.
"To talk of immaterial existences, is to talk of nothings. To say that the human soul, angels God are immaterial is to say, they are nothings, or that there is no God, no angels, no soul...I can never join Calvin in addressing his God. He was indeed an atheist, which I can never be ; or rather his religion was daemonism. If ever man worshiped a false God, he did."

The reason for other Christians getting mad is this teaching is not in agreement with the bible.
The bible says, "God (the father) is spirit" John 4:24, Luke 24:39, 1Cor. 15:50, The he is eternal, meaning no beginning no end. Adam was a created being by God. How did God create himself? makes no sense. Jesus always was, he called himself, "I am". He was before he became flesh. Not Adam.
Mormons also believe "gods" have sex and marry (Key of theology pg 41,The seer, vol1 pg 37)
The bible says, God's only marriage is to Isreal Jer 3:14, Christ's married to believers -Eph 5:23
Mormons believe Adam is god and father of our race (Journal of Discourses Vol 6 pg 50 ).
The bible says Adam was created BY God, -Gen 1:27; 2:18; 3:8; Ex 20:1
Jesus and Adam are two different beings. Jesus spoke of Adam. Adam was a created being Gen 2:7.
Mormons have more teachings like this.
Please read the bible and read why many Christians believe mormonism is cult, at LEAST find out why and compare it to the bible.
God bless you,

Whoever get mad at mormons for their beliefs is not religious, but rather intolerant. Yes, the body (regarding the physical form) of christ is a matter which deserves be treated with respect, but it is not the center of Jesus doctrine. Thou I do not share most mormons beliefs, Why should I get mad at them? Many mormons are well respected people and live a holy life (Not all of them of course)
John 18:36
Matthew 24:35
Also, the immaterial existence is not talk of nothings. Does anybody doubt the existence of good and evil? These are immaterial concepts, but exist, as also does your mind. Do you have doubts about your mind's existence (NOT TALKING ABOUT YOUR BRAIN)

The tomb of Joseph was empty, not because the body of Jesus had been rehabilitated or resurrected, but because the celestial hosts had been granted their request to afford it a special and unique dissolution, a return of the "dust to
dust," without the intervention of the delays of time and without the operation of the ordinary and visible processes of mortal decay and material corruption.
The mortal remains of Jesus underwent the same natural process of elemental disintegration as characterizes all human bodies on earth except that, in point of time, this natural mode of dissolution was greatly accelerated, hastened to that point where it became well-nigh instantaneous.
The true evidences of the resurrection of [Jesus] are spiritual in nature, albeit this teaching is corroborated by the testimony of many mortals of the realm who met, recognized, and communed with the resurrected [soul of Jesus]. He became a part of the personal experience of almost one thousand human beings before he finally took leave ...

Before he resurrected he descended into hell to preach to the lost who went before him, when he came back and was resurrected he first showed himself to Mary , he told her not to touch him because he had not yet went to the Father, then he went to the Father and came back and taught for 40 more days (I think but could be wrong about how many days) He
was seen by more than 500 people. And after he was finished he ascended to the Father and sits at his right hand.

After Jesus resurrected he went to Americas, which I believe you were already aware of. After his visit to the Americas he ascended into heaven with the Father. There is an actual record of this visit, its called the book of Mormon and is used by the mormons (members of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints) hand in hand with the bible. Since the bible has been translated and torn aprt through time. The book of mormon actually clearifies what teachings in the bible have gone astray over time and is considered by millions to be the most correct book over the face of the earth.
