Let's be clear. There is a significant amount of scripture that speaks out against homosexuality. It is, the Bible assures us, an abomination in God's eyes. But as sins go, it probably does get more attention than most other sins. Do you care why that is?
There is the sin itself, homosexuality. Then there is the homosexual movement, agenda, etc. And THAT is what most Christians are fighting. NEVER in the history of human kind has a sin developed such a following, been so heavily defended, marketed, packaged, and--pardon the pun--crammed down the throats of the American people. Liars lie and that is a sin. But you don't hear a lot of liars DENYING that lying is wrong, DEFENDING their lies and an alternative truth, and such. Pick a sin--ANY SIN!--out of the Bible and you probably know a person or two who struggles with it. But ONLY homosexuals promote and defend their lifestyle. Only homosexuals suggest that calling their sin a sin is ... bigoted, closed minded, homophobic, etc.
I sometimes think half of Hollywood is gay, because of sooooooo many light-hearted, "funny" references to homosexuality. My wife used to watch friends and hardly an episode passed that there wasn't something "gay" on there. That's ALL part of their strategy for gaining acceptance! Listen to what they say:
1. If you're against it then you're a bigot
2. If you're against it then you are a homophobe
3. If you're against it then you are closed minded
4. If you're against it then you are PROBABLY gay (wink, wink), just over compensating
So, if there were NO homosexual agenda, NO homosexual lies, and NO homosexual movement afoot then you would hear 90 percent less about homosexuality. But the Christian community is battling BOTH the sin (a little) and the PR and marketing (a lot).

Yes, I find it creepy and odd that they are so worried about what others do in the bedroom.
When we reach Judgment Day, the Bible says that many will be turned away from Heaven, because they did not take care of the least among us in society. We should be concentrating on taking care of the homeless, needy, hungry, destitute, poor, etc. Not promoting the anti-gay lifestyle.
But then promoting homophobia is such a great fund raising tactic! (You cannot have two masters--God and money.)

I think that it's kinda creepy that they should worry so much about someone elses sex life. It's not like they are experts, well except for the catholic priests.
I mean what business is it of theirs what someone else does in their bedroom, they should just butt out. Uuuuhhhh........ I mean get off it................. Uhhhh I mean stay away from the subject............. yea that's it.
but seriously forks homosexuality has been around for ever and isn't going away anytime soon, there even gay animals, just look at those penguins that were in (I think it was a zoo in new york) that were gay and loving it. Of course I am not sure if they ever consumated the relationship. Wouldn't that be an attraction at the zoo to go and see?

Chicken Chimichangas
Tortillas filled with a chicken, rice, beans and olive mixture - rolled, fried and topped with a piquant avocado mix, sour cream and cheese, all served on a bed of lettuce. Being raised 12 miles from the border of Mexico, I was brought up on Mexican food and learned how to make many of the dishes.
Prep Time: 20m
Cook Time: 25m
Ready in: 45m
Yield: 6 servings
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
1/2 cup red enchilada sauce
1 1/2 onion, diced, divided
6 (12 inch) flour tortillas
4 cups diced cooked chicken breast, divided
1 pound Monterey Jack cheese, shredded, divided
1 (6 ounce) can sliced black olives
4 cups refried beans, divided
1/4 cup vegetable oil
TOPPING
3 avocados, peeled and pitted
1/2 cup finely chopped cilantro
2 tablespoons lemon juice
3 green onions, diced
1/4 cup finely chopped jalapeno chile peppers
1 tomato, diced
2 cups shredded lettuce
2 cups sour cream
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions
In a medium saucepan combine the broth, rice, sauce, and 1 diced onion. Mix and bring to a boil; reduce heat to low and let simmer for about 20 minutes, or until rice is tender.
Meanwhile, heat tortillas in a large skillet (so that they are soft enough to fold).
When rice mixture is ready, spoon equal amounts of the following onto each tortilla: Chicken, shredded Jack cheese, diced onion, olives, rice mixture and beans. Roll tortillas, tucking in sides to prevent filling from spilling over.
Heat oil in a large skillet and fry the filled tortillas, turning, until browned on all sides. Drain on paper towels.
To Serve: In a medium bowl combine the avocados, cilantro, lemon juice, green onions, chile peppers and tomatoes. Mash together. Place shredded lettuce on a platter, topped with chimichangas, avocado mix, sour cream and shredded Cheddar cheese.

The jury is still out on causes of homosexuality.
The nature or nurture debate rages around us.
I look at it as an arrested stage of development.
Nobody chooses their sexuality, they get fixated.
The Catholic position is that all persons be respected.
They are entitled to be treated with human dignity.
It is the homosexual activity which is disordered.
BTW, the problem isn't limited to Catholics.

No. Speaking the truth what the Bible says, is very unpopular in todays world.
Leviticus 20:13 (HCSB, Holman Christian Standard Bible)
If a man sleeps with a man as with a woman, they have both committed an abomination. They must be put to death; their blood is on their own hands.

Some religious types are just creepy anyway. I mean those wackos that go door to door. They totally look like they are remote controlled from an underground bunker somewhere. Freaky.

Indeed. They selectively choose what they want to interpret literally from the bible. They literally interpret that homosexuality is a sin, but take a pass on stoning their children for being disobedient. Such hypocrisy is at all times dangerous.
Roselyn, stone any kids today? No.
Condemn gays today? Yes.
Please, why the disparity?

It's very creepy.
Christians should get back to the real concerns of the Bible, such as justice, equity, and help for the poor. Sexual issues are such small potatoes compared to poverty and hunger and injustice!
Thanks for pointing out the creepiness factor.

I think we all need to be more accepting of gays, coloreds and others outside the norm.
Those people need love too.
Thank you for your thoughtful questions and may Beckham bless you and keep you safe.
Amen.
