is it possible to follow the teachings of Jesus, yet believe that God saves ALL? i just don't think a loving God would create someone and then send it to suffer for all eternity. there are some major things i disagree with about today's Christianity, but being a Christian still appeals to me a little. is this possible?

Hi Kelly. You ask a very good question -- one which most people seeking after God ask at some point. The best way for you to someday know the answer to your question is for God to tell you Himself. None of us know all the answers, but God earnestly desires to communicate with us about His ways. Why not start by reading what Jesus said in the Bible? Then begin listening in your heart what you think He is saying through the passages you have read. If you have believed in Jesus as your Saviour by acknowledging Him as God's son, then He is living inside you. This is the Holy Spirit, and He will guide you into the truth that you seek.

For me, I know that Jesus longs for every person to know the Father and for each to live with Him eternally. I also know that He is full of mercy and compassion. And so I believe that He is able to save every one of us. But it is our choice. We are free to question Him, run from Him, rebel against Him, and even hate Him. But His love demands that we not be forced to love Him. He has done all that needs to be done, except for one thing -- our choosing of Him. If we can but choose to trust God and believe on Jesus, then indeed He will save the only "all" that I have any control over, and that is me. I do not have to figure out how the universe runs in order to do that.

I hope this may help you in your search for Him. Remember, He is waiting for you.

Believe what you will. The scriptures are clear that those who want to follow God will get to spend eternity with Him. Those who don't want Him will get what they want - eternity without Him, in darkness.

I don't understand what you mean by "today's" Christianity, since the Bible is timeless in it's message.

The Bible teaches that Jesus came that all might be saved - that is, all have the same opportunity, to accept Him or reject Him. But, many will reject Him, sad to say. We all have the choice. We all have the same opportunity.

Why does being a Christian appeal to you? Is it a matter of religious interest?

Or, do you acknowledge that you are a sinner, who cannot get to God by your own merit? Would you confess to God that you are a sinner and need His forgiveness? Are you willing to repent of all sin and allow Jesus to be not only Savior, but Lord of your life?

This isn't a club or organization - it is a personal relationship with the Creator. Do you want that relationship?

No.

Claiming that God is "loving" is akin to claiming that God is SHINY. You have no rational basis for making that claim. The only basis you have for even believing in God is the Bible, and the Bible specifically tells you that God doesn't do what you think He should do. Therefore your argument has no merit.

However, to address the question pragmatically....Is it possible to be a Christian and still believe whatever foolish thing you want to believe, regardless of what's written in the Bible? Of course it is. Most Christians are like that.

No, it's not possible. You are contradicting what JESUS has spoken. GOD does love ALL, however, NOT ALL LOVE GOD! Can GOD respect the wishes of the obedient as well as the disobedient? I believe this is the case.

As far as GOD punishing the wicked, GOD DOES NOT send them to be eternally tormented. HE is merciful in the destruction of the wicked. Please understand that GOD is cleansing the earth of all that is wicked. Also, the "lake of fire" was originally intended for the Devil and his angels. However, those that choose to follow the Devil will be cast there too.

This all goes back to the fall of mankind. Adam sinned against God. We are the offspring from Adam. Therefore we deserved judgment. But Jesus paid the price for us. But you have to believe that first. Then comes after that Jesus brings us back to a restored relation with him. But since we are in bodies of of corrupt material all will be judged. Some will get an award, others hell.

Absolutely.... NOT!

YOU.... do not Know... the GOD.... of the Bible...!

Someone You call.... " god-Small=g " and hope that ALL ARE SAVED.... is NOT the GOD... of the Bible!

FOR.....ALL THOSE.... THAT Rejected..... Christ... and His Finished WORK.... The WORD.... Says...

(Hebrews 10:28-to-31) He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

(Heb 10:29) Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

(Heb 10:30) For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

(Heb 10:31) It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

You have to realize that God is holy , righteous , and perfect . He hates sin . every one since Adam and eve have sinned against God .A sin is a crime against Gods law . There must be payment for a crime in which the judge will sentence us with $ or jail time .There must be a payment for sin which the judge ( God ) will judge us with either eternity in hell or the blood of Jesus that will be our substitute ONLY ...if we trust and believe in him as our personal savior and try to obey him the best we can ..Romans 10:17 " So then faith commeth by hearing , hearing by the word of God ". www.fbbc.com

We never want to think of people we love going to hell and you know in many instances I believe God does (due to circumstances let people come through) All I can really tell you is this keep reading your bible and going to church and seeking to know him. But do know this it does state very clearly in the bible that is but by the grace of God we are saved not by being a "good person"

There's a difference in calling yourself Christian and being born again Christian first of all. People who just believe call themself christian doesn't make them saved . Anyway how could you be a christian and not believe his word.It plainly teaches of punishment for the wicked. They are people who are not born again and they reject Jesus.God wants to save all - but it's the ( all) who reject his Son. God sends no one to suffer - they send theirsleves- You are not disagreeing with Christianity - you disagreeing with God and what his word says. So you'll need to get that worked out with him not christians.

Jesus' work on the cross is meant to save all from eternal damnation.

But since God gives people freedom to choose, some choose NOT to be saved. Is it God's fault?
