.... can you name ANY atheist groups or individuals who have killed other people in the name of Atheism alone (i.e., not simply in the name of a rigid ideology that also denies theism)?

How about Skepticism? Agnosticism? Deism?

(Communism doesn't count, because even though Communists are atheistic, they also teach dogmatic ideologies that justify warfare on the basis of Communist principles, not atheism itself.)

that all Protestants aren't saved?

The prophecy of St. Malachy (which is not universally recognized as being a true prophecy) claims that the very next Pope, who will be named Peter, will lead the Catholic Church through the Tribulation. A summary of the prophecy can be read here: http://www.catholic-pages.com/grabbag/malachy.asp

Could it be that Pope Benedict XVI believes this prophecy and feels inspired to warn Protestants that the Tribulation is close? I'm not a Catholic, so I can't pretend to know, but his approach seems vastly different from Pope John Paul II's -- I still remember him kissing the Koran and encouraging interfaith communications.

(For those of you who aren't aware of this recent controversy, here's an article on the Pope's recent signing of a document that formally states Protestants are going to Hell: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=56612 )

Quote from the article from Ms. Lopez :
"I know that the Constitution says freedom of speech, but what about my freedom as a parent to not want [my children] to read about abortion and homosexuality in their school library."

Ms. Lopez can do whatever she likes with her own children, but they are not the only ones who use that school library. What about the other children? She will be infringing upon the rights of other children and their parents by removing those books.

It's one thing to decide what you will let your children read. It's wrong to try and make that decision for other people's children.

I was surfing the net with the TV set to a news channel, and I overhead this abysmal report about how the Polish prime minister wants to know exactly how many homosexuals there are in Poland, and he also wants his people to develop a "cure for gays".

Makes me laugh at the ignorance.

He released a document stating that other Christian denominations are not the true path to salvation. Why does the Pope feel a need to create conflict? Who cares if you are Protestant or whatever. Isn't believing in God a good thing? Why does he feel a need to flex his relgious muscles? I'd wish he'd shut up already.

Not only do I have a limited grocery budget, but I also buy products that are meatless, soy-based, and organic, which means a "food sharing" situation wouldn't work because my roommates don't buy the same type of food.
It was fine when they would ask (giving up a slice of bread or two wasn't a terrible hardship), but I would later find most of the item eaten within a day, and now unopened containers of the food I've purchased are being opened and consumed without asking.
I'd just like to find the best way to approach my request that they don't take my food, seeing as I have a rather large fear of confrontation.

You are an individual human being.

What will be your contribution to the history of mankind?

How many lives will you touch today with either a smile or a frown?

How many people will you help or save?

How far reaching will be your impact?

How can people actually believe that the pope is the antichrist? Sure, I know many Protestants hate the pope, but why do so many believe he is the antichrist? I highly doubt that the Catholic church is going to persecute people nowadays. What's your opinion on this?
