today, I totally agree with you...I will never figure out why people do this...does it somehow make them feel better about the path they have taken...I just don't get it...
A year ago, to compare, I was really learning alot about other faiths and religions...now all people seem to want to do is fight with everyone who doesn't agree with them...we really need to bring back the learning that use to go on here.

The last two questions I asked today were about things that I personally lived and learned over the years. Most of the time when I ask a question, some where there is a answer for me to find on my own. I know sometimes asking a sincere question to people can be more reassuring asking people what they think, believe, and have experienced than just reading some facts I found on some web site!

Yes I think to incite or to prove how clever the asker is. Of course there are sincere questions too.

Not most, but it is a big category, along with shameless proselytizing and one upsmanship. Legitimate questions, you know, the kind where people are actually soliciting information and advice, do seem pretty scarce.

both - I'm inclined to ask questions that wake people up and force them to think. The harder and biting the question, the more upset the Christians get. That's good because it shows they are having to face the loony claims of their faith.
