.... can you name ANY atheist groups or individuals who have killed other people in the name of Atheism alone (i.e., not simply in the name of a rigid ideology that also denies theism)?

How about Skepticism? Agnosticism? Deism?

(Communism doesn't count, because even though Communists are atheistic, they also teach dogmatic ideologies that justify warfare on the basis of Communist principles, not atheism itself.)

Beatleman & Beta Fishy:

My restrictions are simply to address the issues at hand. I would no more ask Christians to take responsibility for the War in Iraq, when instead the ideology of Neo-Conservatism is to blame. Atheism has no responsibility for Communistic atrocities, any more than Christianity has responsibility for Nazi atrocities.

Let's all take a drink whenever a theist confuses "atheism" with "atheistic ideology."

For the record, I consider Marxism a religion. It involves adhering to a more or less sacred creed and a bunch of beliefs that have to be taken on faith.

Can't think of a single one.
It is said that Attila the Hun was an Atheist, but it is also argued that he was Agnostic. Either way he did not expand his empire based on atheistic views or religious views. However, there have been numerous wars fought in the "name of God".

First of all, people use religion as an excuse for wars, it is not the actual cause. Second of all communism should count in your terms because they often killed religious people. For example, Stalin ordered the death of a few thousand priests, nuns, monks, and imams.

Wow, could that question be any more restrictive?

"Name any atheists who have killed people, but you can't list the biggest group of all: communists."

Mao and Stalin killed tens of millions in order to impose their atheistic ideology. That far surpasses any and all so-called "religious" wars.

Let's see...how many of our (USA) wars have been waged in the name of religion? Hmmm... none.

EDIT: You're just splitting hairs.
