I was surfing the net with the TV set to a news channel, and I overhead this abysmal report about how the Polish prime minister wants to know exactly how many homosexuals there are in Poland, and he also wants his people to develop a "cure for gays".

Makes me laugh at the ignorance.

I'm not even gay and I found it laughable.

That doesn't make me laugh. That kind of stuff used to, but now it scares me. I live in Missouri where a couple years ago they passed a law that stated that a marriage is only between a man and a woman. People are so conservative and unwilling to accept other people that they forget that these are other PEOPLE. For them to come out and say something like that shows that the general population of Poland would be okay with a stance like that or it would be political suicide for whoever said that. I see too much hatred towards homosexuals that something like this is just another example of that.
P.S. I'm not gay; I just think that people should respect other people.

Well, Poland is a bit harsh in many things..they are full of neo-nazis over there and in general they have this attitude of "cleansing" the impure ones. I can understand the bigotry and ignorance of the people in a 3rd world country, but for the government to say such a thing..well, it shows their level...it is no wonder why people are fleeing Poland by the millions now, by the time they come up with their "cure" there will be no Pole left in their country.

More ignorant than laughable. Of greater concern is the number of countries where homosexuality is a capital offense, let alone openly discriminated against.

Well considering homosexuality is something you're born not something you decide to be how can there be a cure for homosexuality? Why would a person choose to be something unpopular and unaceptable in some societies. No you can't cure homosexuality how about curing stupidity instead.

Funny...they keep trying to say they're a modern European Union country that deserves to be treated with respect by the other EU countries. Then they do backwards crap like this.

From what I know of the EU, they can over-ride individual countries' laws in regards to human rights matters. I certainly hope they take a hard stand on this one.

Wow I have ancestral roots in Poland. I can't believe my ancestral homeland is being selfish. Bring the news to gay people that they should not enter Poland.

It's sad. And that country is in the EU. Their president and prime minister are brothers, a twin even, and as boys decades ago they were TV stars. They are also thinking out loud about the death penalty. Sad. And that is then the country of the concentration camps.
